ELI5 Professional Diploma in the UK – what exactly is it?

r/

Hi, I was wondering what exactly is a Professional diploma in the UK? Is it the same as a Postgraduate diploma? What does it lead to? Is it like a professional qualification that allows you to enter the workforce as a professional/specialist/expert in a certain field? Something like Associate degrees in the USA, AP degrees in Denmark, or qualification from a Hochschule in Germany, for example? Thanks in advance for the clarification!

It is literally as you said. You are now a member of whatever profession and permitted to practice as such. You will probably have annual fee as well. Some may recognise pr3vious studies, while others may recognise relevant work experience.
