ELI5: Why can someone be incapable of crying?

    There can be many explanations. One being that you have been supressed your emotions/feelings to the point that you dont cry anymore.

    Sometimes people can’t cry because of physical reasons like if their tear glands aren’t working properly due to a medical condition, medication side effects, or nerve damage. Other times, it’s emotional or psychological like if someone has gone through trauma or depression, their brain might sort of “shut down” emotional responses, including crying. It’s not that they don’t feel things, it’s just that their body isn’t reacting in the usual way.
