Im young and I just don’t like them. Almost everyone I know in my age group has them and often makes me feel pressured to get them and I just don’t think they look good. Also they are expensive and one day you might wake up and decide you don’t like it anymore and then the removal process is even more expensive.

Not EVERYONE but most. I mean the rock with tattoos, or some girls small but long leg tattoos look really good. It’s kind of a dumb thing anyway though
Keyword: might. Just because most people have tattoos, doesn’t mean they will regret those tattoos someday. Besides, speak for yourself.
I think they’re sexy. I also think no tattoos is sexy.
I’ve never seen anything that I’d want on my skin for the rest of my life. So I’m a blank canvas. 😂
Yes. I have no tats and no ragrets about it.
I didn’t get them to make me pretty, I got them because they made me happy
I don’t have any tattoos myself, but I think they can be cool and give you a totally different vibe. Also, I love girls with tattoos for some reason, it’s sexy for me.
Instant turn-off!!
I definitely wish I thought that before getting my tattoo. I regret it. I know not everyone does but I didn’t expect to regret it
I find people who arent heavily tattooed unattractive. I definitely have a type.
Nope
It doesn’t matter what you think about them. It’s completely personal to have tattoos or showing them. I have one on my shoulder with a rainbow and animals and flowers to represent my family and our childish character when we get together.
Some days i wear shorter sleaves somedays i don’t want to show them.
Get a bunch of tattoos Casts spell of peer pressure
Hard disagree
If you want, you can pay for their removal
Fabulous news! If you don’t like tattoos you are under no obligation to get one! Hurrah!
I mean personally I don’t have tattoos yet I can’t wait until I can get some. If I end up regretting it it’s not the end of the world and I won’t get them removed I don’t think at least cuz then I really just wasted money lmao. I will regret worst things then some ink in my skin but I don’t think I’d regret them. Don’t feel pressured tho, you don’t need one and definitely don’t get one if you don’t want one cuz then you will regret that. Tattoos are a form of expression and art and if that’s not the way you want to express yourself that’s okay!
Only if they are tasteful tattoos, I’ve had a coworker who looks like an acid metal album that skimmed on the cover art.
Having Piercings/tattoos attracts people i want to talk to, and repels people i wouldnt like anyway
Oh, you’re thinking about a tattoo? (Fast forward) I see you decided on convering your whole arm, ok.
Agreed. Piercings too
As someone with 10 tattoos, I agree
I only partially agree, a few tattoos can be sexy but after so many you start to look like a public bathroom.
Cry about it
I love my tattoos, I got them for me, nobody else. If you’re getting PEREMENENT things on your body it should be for nobody but yourself imo.
That being said, I look way cooler with my tattoos.
Absolutely not. Most of mine are used to cover up awful scars on my body.
If you’re too chicken shit to get one, then just say that.
We should just change this sub named to. “You shouldn’t have something because I don’t like it.”
Some people give up on looking good because… they can’t, and they know it, so they try to be noticed for other reasons. Literally, sometimes for looking just awful. Because to some people, negative attention is better than no attention.
People without tattoos look like buttered noodles
Many people love their tattoos. I find them attractive when done right. Don’t get them because everyone else is, then you will definitely regret it and hate them more.
I don’t care. It’s not about looks, it’s a reminder that I can and will survive
Agree and I have 1.
Good thing people get tattoos for themselves and not for you then
I regret my tattoo. I assume everyone does eventually.
Yeah I don’t wear em for other people chief. I don’t give a fuck what others think about them
I got mine for personal reasons. Aesthetic was not one of them
I personally don’t care to have anything permanently etched into my skin, but people who have tattoos always get defensive if you say you don’t care for them. I don’t care if they like them or not really, I just don’t.
To everyone thinking about getting a tattoo: think bout it for two years. If you still like the idea, go get it. If you don’t, let it be. Permanent is a long time. I regret nothing. And I don’t care if someone else doesn’t like them. I did them because I like them. And because they tell my story. You do you.
I promise you; my face is still fucked up with or without the tattoos I have that can’t be seen with shorts and a t shirt on
Often it looks like putting bumper stickers on a Ferrari.
I don’t particularly like them either, but to each her own.
Yawn. Can we make this a banned topic now. It crops up repeatedly. Hardly an unpopular opinion.
It’s not your body op, who cares what others do with theirs? This is what’s wrong with society.
The main reason tattoos are sexy is because you know that person is going to be easier to fuck
Mixed feels. I’ve seen people with amazing art work, and I’ve seen people that look like a toddler went crazy with a sharpie. What grinds me, are the people that cover themselves, then complain that people judge them. Don’t get me wrong, no one should be judging anyone, but you did it to yourself. I was born with a genetic birth defect and get judged every day of my life for something I have zero control over, so I really don’t have a ton of sympathy for people that intentionally do something they know will be met with mixed reviews
People posting stuff like this makes me want to get more tattoos
Worry about yourself and not what others do with their lives that literally doesn’t affect you. No one is forcing you to get tattoos. If you feel pressured, you need to work on your own self esteem.
Also, unpopular opinion about tattoos has been done to death.
It kind of sounds like you might actually want one, or at least feel conflicted, and are trying to justify not having any by convincing yourself tattoos just aren’t worth it. It’s easier sometimes to write something off than to sit in the discomfort of feeling left out.
You mentioned feeling pressured, how has that shown up for you? Like, are people actually pushing you, or is it more the vibe that everyone has them and you’re the odd one out?
And when you say they don’t “look good,” what do you mean exactly? Is it certain styles or placements? Because I’ve seen some truly beautiful tattoos and also some really awful ones. It’s a pretty wide art form and some tattoos are a part of deep cultural traditions.
Some of mine cover scars, tattoos will always look better to me than scars. Planning another scar cover up soon
Some people look really good with tattoos. Although the people that have dozens of tattoos have gone overkill – too many tattoos is ugly.
Even if that wasn’t the case, permanent tattoos are a bad idea. Feelings and tastes change over time, so why get yourself stuck with a specific pattern or image? You could have temporary tattoos instead, so then you’re not stuck with the same ones all the time.
In cartoons and video games they can look cool but in real life they just loon tacky.
Yup totally agree with you, OP.
you’re right this is an unpopular opinion! most people don’t wake up and choose to conform to your beauty standards OP
Trust me when you’re older you’ll feel silly about being pressured about anything at all. Tell them no with confidence that it’s just not your thing! They’ll respect it and leave you alone over time
Sounds like you need to find a way to not let the peer pressure get to you
tbh this is not an unpopular opinion. its very popular. in some cultures and religions even the dominant opinion.
Sometimes tattoos are neither for looks, nor for others’ approval.
That happened to me. I woke up one day and hated them. I only have 5 . I’m removing them now. The laser removal process is super expensive and super painful. You live and you learn.
People getting mad about someone’s unpopular opinion is hilarious 🤣
Not unpopular on this site, gets posted every other week
I love them. I only have one that I got 20 years ago but I’m a fan of all kinds of tattoos
don’t let yourself be pressured. I have tattoos and most of my friends don’t, or a personal one in an area you don’t usually see. The majority of people actually aren’t tattooed and it’s still a taboo in lots of places.
I’m not doing it to look good, attractive or sexy to anyone else that isn’t me. I do it because I think they’re fun, I like the looks personally, I like that it’s actually a personal thing that is related to me as an individual. I take a long time to decide on my tattoos because I want them to be especially personal, not necessarily deep meaning, but personal. Someone else’s opinions on it, is not.
upvoted because unpopular
Same. So many girls on dating apps specifically mention that they go crazy for them. It annoys me.
I’ve wanted one for some time, but i already know not to get one.
I KNOW I would regret it lol. I’m too picky as well.
Time to get a new tattoo
All of mine are pretty so 🤷♀️
I got tattoos specifically to piss off the anti tattoo crowd
Love the salty tears when someone tells me I’ve desacrated my body. Yes, I have, specifically to bother people like you
for you. i think girls with tattoos get a buff to hotness.
also, we dont get tattoos to look pretty or impress you, i hot mine for myself.
Good thing people aren’t getting tattoos to appease you.
Good thing you have bodily autonomy and you don’t have to! Yayyyy!
Feeling peer pressure to get tattoos is shitty, sorry you feel like that.
I love my tattoos, don’t regret them, don’t care what other people think about them, but I’m never going to push someone who doesn’t want them to get one.
I do my thing with my skin, you do your thing with yours. It’s all good.
FFS the point of this thread is to express an admittedly unpopular opinion. That’s what OP did. Not sure why there are a bunch of people lecturing OP for that opinion.
I don’t think others peoples free will is pretty and am gonna judge everyone’s appearance because my fresh untainted skin is better than yours and when we die it’s gonna be super significant that my skin is perfect and yours isn’t
Hard disagree. Take an upvote.
This sure triggered some fragile egod
I’ve seen one naked woman in my entire time on reddit who had tattoos that actually complemented her body and looked cool. Almost all tattoos just look like varying levels of random doodles.
You don’t like them. So don’t get them. This opinion isn’t unpopular, it’s just rude and frankly makes you look stupid and childish.
It’s weird for you to assume that just because you don’t like them it means everyone automatically got them for bad reasons? You feeling pressured to get them is a you problem, nobody is actually making you.
Women who choose to go down the reconstruction route after a mastectomy often get realistic nipple tattoos done…don’t think they will regret that.
Also some who choose not to reconstruct have the scars covered with tattoos.
In fact a lot of people get scars covered with tattoos.
>I have opinion
Cool. Watch the movie Memento when you’re old enough.
I think it depends. Some tattoos are really elegant and well thought out. Others are just chicken scratch. There’s a subset of young people get tattoos to rebel and to feel grown up. I think a perfect example were the members of One Direction. A lot of the members started getting tattoos but they were mostly of random small stuff and it was obvious that was the probably their only outlet of rebelling that wasn’t gonna put them in jail or hurt their fanbase.
I think we should encourage young people to rebelling with piercings, they’re a lot less permanent than tattoos.
