My mom rents a patio home in Ohio. She is 87. Recently she allowed my 64 year old brother to live with her. Mom is healthy but my brother needs assistance. Yesterday, my brother became verbally abusive and called the police on my mom stating she was crazy and abusive. The police said there was nothing they can do. The police left and his verbal abuse continued. I came to my mom’s house to pack some of her things and bring her to my house to keep her safe. Once I got there, my brother called the police on me. Again, nothing was done. The deputy told us to start eviction proceedings. My question is can the landlord start the eviction notice on my brother? Mom wants to stay in her home and wants my brother out. He is dangerous. If the landlord can evict my brother only, what would that process be?
