Ex Threatens to leak Nudes

I am posting on behalf of a friend who received a message from their ex threatening to sell their sex tape. The ex was blocked and then continued to find different apps to message my friend. Is the threat enough for legal action?
Other issue is my friend is out of the state with family and is not planning on filing a report until this is back in their hometown a week away. How would this negatively impact the case, if there is one?
Location: Florida
Location state is the hometown state and i am neglecting the secondary state to keep anonymity
