My ex-boyfriend is living in my house RENT FREE. Mortgage and deed are in my name. He has no job and does not contribute to any of the bills for the home. He does a limited amount of menial chores, such as washing dishes, washing/drying the laundry and occasionally mowing the lawn. When asked to do anything more, he will agree to it, but then never actually do it. He thinks he does a great deal around here, but that’s in his head.
My daughter and I can’t stand him being here any longer and I have had blowup fights wth him and have told him he needs to move, to which he claims he’s “working on it”. But this has been said more than once in a 3 month period. I can’t afford to take him to court…does anyone have any suggestions for me?

You can give him written (ink on paper, not text, not phone call, not verbal), 30-day notice to vacate, and if he refuses to vacate after that time, you can file for an eviction lawsuit and see that process through to the end.
Alternatively, as something of a shortcut, everyone has a price. There is some amount of money (or whatever other thing of value) he cannot possibly say no to in exchange for agreeing to move himself and all his stuff out by X date. Obviously, only payable to him once he actually gets up and moves himself and all his stuff out and relinquishes access to the home.
If you are unwilling or unable to evict him, then, presumably, he will continue to live there.
