The executor let the beneficiaries take things from the house without keeping track of them. Now they are realizing they should not have done that.
The problem is, several people took memorable, high dollar things, like a tractor or guns. Whereas other people took things that aren’t easily traced/remembered that add up to a lot of money, like several small pieces of jewelry or tools.
So there’s no way of fairly figuring out who took what from memory and given how contentious everything is, nobody is going to be honest about what they got.
What can/should happen now?
