Exercise clothes are for exercising, not “lifestyle”

r/

If you’re wearing clothes in public that are meant to exercise in, and you’re not actually exercising, you’re lazy, tasteless, and not helping add to the beauty of our society.

“Not helping add to the beauty of our society”

How do you guys come up with this shit?

What, do you mean like athletic shorts? I hate pants/jeans period and wear shorts all through winter

You sound like you wear a fedora

I don’t see the issue with being comfortable.

Then again maybe a weight limit on skin tight stretchy clothes wouldn’t be the worst…..for the beauty of our society of course.

I think those leggings that outline each butt cheek individually actually add a lot to the beauty of our society.

Upvote for unpopular opinion. Personally I don’t really care what people wear in public as long as it’s decent. Fancy places can have dress codes but otherwise it’s not really anyone else’s business.

I’ve been told the yoga pants, in no uncertain terms, do, in fact add to the beauty of society.

Well, I also go to the gym most days and just leave them on because mom life.

Where in the contract I signed before being born or any laws we all voted to enact does it say I need to “add to the beauty of our society”?

I’m happy I can prioritize being comfortable and happy and not conforming to what other people think I should wear

So if you are wearing a Tshirt and not working out you are a failure and hypocrite.

If you wear sneakers and you are not exercising? Same.

Jeans were made for working, if you are enjoying leasure time and wearing jeans you are again a failure and hypocrite.

I am wearing whatever is comfortable to me. It makes no difference to me what someone else thinks.

Converse were originally made for basketball and sweat suits got adopted by hip hop. That’s just how style/fashion work. Should we tell non ice skaters to stop wearing skater skirts? Should loafers only be used by old people to loaf around? Clothing is a form of self expression whether you agree or not

  16. Nervous_Eye_5212 Avatar

It’s almost like people buy clothes to wear for whatever reason they want. How dare they

I literally just came from the gym, though lol sorry I’m not beautiful enough for you but here’s a secret: idgaf 😘

    >lazy

I’ll give you that, I do dress in basketball shorts/sweatpants partially out of laziness

    >tasteless

I have taste, my taste is comfort, ease, and low-cost.

    >not helping add to the beauty of our society

I mean most things don’t “add to the beauty” of society, but that’s all subjective anyways.

I’m sorry I didn’t go home to change between working out and picking up some bananas and choco milk at the store

I think exercise clothes should be mandatory if it’s hotter than 75 degrees outside. Don’t wear long pants and a turtleneck when it’s hot you dope, dress comfortable.
