Experiences of being high for the first time (weed)?

r/

I’m writing at the minute and would love to hear some experiences if anyone can share. I’ve never smoked before and can’t say I have any idea about it! Is it more like being drunk or something entirely different?

The first time go easy and don’t start with edibles or concentrates.

It’s not like being drunk, more like a slight dream quality, everything is funny and/or interesting and you’re hungry.

But if you take too much, paranoia and anxiety can hit really hard.

I don’t remember my first time being high but in the early days we went to jack in the box at 2am and ordered 50 tacos. It was 2 of us and we woke up with only 3 left lol

Everything will feel like the best version of everything you’ve ever done. Watching a show you’re bored of? It suddenly is the funniest, most hilarious thing of all time. Eating a boring sandwich? It suddenly tastes like a 5 star meal. Sitting on the couch? Your whole body will feel floaty, like a dream, like the ones you have control but not fully if that makes sense.

The first time I smoked, I also drank quite a bit at a party. Things went great until a girl got a bit to drunk. Half an hour later, I had to carry her down the stairs whole being lost in space.

    That’s when it turned.
I had to carry her back inside with my mate. It did not look good, two guys carrying an unctuous girl into an apartment.
A dude stopped us and was asked questions, and I really wasn’t in the right head spade to answer them.

That was also the last time I smoked, I would do it again, but that party was kinda towards the end of my party days until 3-4 months, I guess.

Buddy and me smoke out of a home made bole, toilet paper tube and aluminum foil after school, went across the street to a girls house to hang out afterwards…..I am still not sure I have laughed that hard again since. Everything was funny

I didn’t feel it the first time, but the second time (after I finished coughing for 30 minutes) I wanted my mommy.

It’s different, depending on how much you smoke.

You’ll probably feel elevated in the sense that things will feel “lighter”.

I always feel like alcohol drowns you in slowness while weed elevates you to a lightness that makes you spacey slow and slows everything down around you as well.

It’s more relieving when you smoke than indulgent.

I feel that has to do with the substance and consumption process

I got pretty fucked up yesterday cleaning a gear box with brake clean. My goodness. Why does it have to be so expensive.

Why different than drunk , if it’s your first time, you have no idea how you will react , so stay home or with a safe person first !

It’s entirely different from being drunk. When drunk, I feel woozy, and eventually slur words, the usual drunk thing.

When high, the first time I got very paranoid, I was like 16 and I remember not feeling it from the first hit, so I did a lot more. Then I was convinced my parents were in the other room (I was at a friends house an hour away lol) and that the cops wanted to arrest me, just kind of got in my head.

Now as a regular user, it calms me down a lot at the end of the day and helps with sleep. It makes me feel a slight heaviness to my body. The couch is extra comfortable, pain is less painful, I get kind of hungry. Things make me laugh easier, my mind slows down, it’s like feeling really relaxed. I also get hungry, which is the whole “munchies” thing. A lot of people feel the heaviness/slight tiredness, relaxed, other people tend to get that paranoid feeling as well. Don’t do too much at once if you intend to try it, start small because overdoing it is a good way to panick lol

A dreamlike state is a pretty good description of how I felt the first time I smoked weed. I recall laughing a lot and being super chatty. I also remember walking around my house with arms and legs making big swirly movements because it felt like I was walking through water. I was just fascinated that my arms and legs felt heavy and slow. I was a daily smoker for many years but I’m 6 months clean now. I miss it sometimes, but then I remember the anxiety and I don’t miss that part at all! I think what I miss is the early days of smoking weed, when it was fun and light and silly. I still love the smell of it.

    A couple things

    1. Not everyone takes to it. Honestly I hated weed for YEARS because it just made me paranoid as hell and could not for the life of me figure out why my friends liked it.

    2. Fast forward 10 years, a lot of personal mental growth and happiness: now I love it and my wife, who doesn’t like me drinking really (like, some wine is fine, but not going out to bars, etc) encourages me to have some weed because it mellows me out in a very pleasant way

Anxiety can hit hard. Just breathe through it and do.not.panic. You’ll eventually find yourself in a euphoric state. It’s a good idea to be hydrated as your eyes can get dry and maybe even something to soothe that like some eye drops so your eyes aren’t so irritated.

It’s good to be in a relaxed state. You’ll want snacks. And music. Converse sparingly.

    Enjoy!
