I was being trained (haven’t gone to POST yet) and was fired for jokingly flipping off my coworker after they did that to me first. They sent me all the documentation and come to find out they said I was unsatisfactory on some practice scenarios. I had never done any of the scenarios before and my FTO didn’t demonstrate anything or explain what they wanted me to do. My FTO never mentioned I was unsatisfactory and neither did the Chief. I got satisfactory scores on all my daily reports. Has anyone ever had this happen? I feel like my FTO had a personal vendetta against me and got me fired for no reason.
Failed FTO and was blindsided

They didn’t like you. Sounds shitty, but cohesion is incredibly important.
Sounds like they would have got rid of no matter what
More than likely someone thought you weren’t police material and maybe would have tried to work with you, but you flipping them off signaled to them and made them believe they thought you didn’t have bearing and weren’t fit for things.
Also if you’re a probationary employee they can let you go regardless of whether or not you are in the right. It could be because they thought you weren’t a good fit.
So if your agency has a freedom of information act or FOIA you can find out for real what they put. If they don’t, you are SIL
If you fail FTO do you lateral to another agency or go through an entire new academy?
