Generally, most episodes have a few funny gags and jokes and the rest is just filler, I was never interested in the storylines or something. The whole “gag” format is a bit annoying in my opinion, in “short form brain rot” form it feels a bit more cohesive since there’s no context that the jokes are unrelated to.
Only reason I noticed this is because short clips of other comedy shows leave me frustrated because I don’t have the context, nor will I see where it’ll go. With Family Guy I just know it’s a gag that had nothing to do with anything anyway, similar to any other comedy sketch I’ll stumble while doomscrolling.
Edit: This might be a popular opinion amongst people younger than me, but I think they might be a bit biased since they weren’t exposed to Family Guy through its proper format.

Well thats the whole thing with those kinda shows. They have 5 minutes of jokes and 15 minutes of story and setup. When you JUST see the jokes ofcourse it is funnier but family guy isnt designed to be just a bunch of skits, it is supposed to be a full show.
Newsflash: TV is funnier when you only watch the funny parts.

Almost anything is funnier when consumed through YouTube shorts.
South Park was generally correct about Family Guy, and most of their best jokes are random gags that are detached from the main storyline. These cutaway gags are pretty much perfect for a format like TikTok or YouTube shorts.
Some of the best episodes need to be watched in full but I agree shorts are generally better for family guy.
Of course, if you get the best bits shoved in your face, it will be funnier.
To me Family Guy is sacred for many reasons, but for the most part, helped make my English way better (I started learning English later in life).
So I watch some episodes nearly on a daily basis now.
I still like watching full episodes of Family Guy, but as someone whose short form content feeds are very common filled with Family Guy clips, you absolutely get the best parts of Family Guy just from the cutaway gags or even small clips from the “story” bits with next to no context
