I keep hearing that judges will not be fair if they hear it’s a man going for full custody. My lawyer agrees with this sentiment, and as sexist as it sounds, other lawyers I have spoken to also agree. I’m not looking for legal advice, I just want to know if their is any validity to these claims.
Father’s/Male Guardians who fought for sole custody of their children – did you feel you had to work harder to prove yourself capable of doing so?

Many men report feeling they had to prove themselves more than mothers to gain sole custody. The legal system can have biases rooted in traditional views of caregiving roles. That said, outcomes vary widely depending on the judge, evidence, and circumstances. Being well-prepared and demonstrating consistent involvement in the child’s life often helps counteract these biases.
