Feminism rage bait

r/

I got a glimpse of some posts talking about misandry (totally valid) and noticed the comment sections full of comments like “this is why people don’t believe that feminists are fighting for equality” or whatever. I didn’t “glimpse” for long in order to avoid getting frustrated from the rage bait (which I obviously failed at).

Anyways, what does feminism even have to do with this? Not a mention of it in the original post. Simply mentioning how some “activists” were fighting against equal laws for men. And despite that literally going against the core definition of feminism, some people were like “f### the feminists, not caring about men at all”.

Now as I said, I didn’t dig deeper into it, but even if these people who did it called themselves “feminists”, then it doesn’t really mean anything. If you call yourself a “vegan” and still consume a bunch of animal products, then the label you’ve given yourself does not align in any way with the reality.

I’m so tired of people trash talking stuff they literally agree with, just because they have a skewed perception of its definition or whatever.

Listen – there are some people out there who don’t actually give a toss about men’s issues ( whether it be male rape or male suicide rates ) until somebody brings the general topic but in regards to women. Their hate for women is substantially bigger than their care for other men.

    Just ignore them 🙂

It’s because they label some of the tenets of feminism as misandry, because losing power (because becoming equal always requires at least losing the power of privilege) feels like an attack/hatred.  So therefore feminists = misandrists, because feminists believe that the power of patriarchal male privilege should disappear as part of the equalization of the sexes.

Half the posts in feminist forums are disingenuous bad faith loaded questions like “Why aren’t feminists doing more about male suicide rates and dating more short guys? (no fatties)”

I mean, there is such thing as misandry, and great that people are recognizing bigotry as bigotry.

Except, of course, mostly they’re just mislabeling criticism directed at the patriarchy as misandry. Men should ALSO be concerned with how the patriarchy hurts them as individuals. Why are male SA cases not taken seriously? It’s not feminism; it’s the patriarchy. Men are too strong and too sex starved to actually be nonconsensual, even as prepubescent boys, according to the patriarchy. If you cared about male SA, you’d identify the correct perpetrator of “not caring enough.”

But truthfully, they only care about male SA when female SA is brought up. It’s not a topic they talk about independently. They aren’t forming plans. They’re not urging bills through their legislatures. They’re not voting against politicians that uphold patriarchal gender roles. They’re not raising funds to protect young boys from predators. They’re not organizing volunteers and funds to open male SA survivor shelters in their communities. That’s women’s work. They don’t want to raise their own funds; they want women to divert funds from their own SA survivor tasks. Which, yeah, the rising tides lifts all boats; any legislation designed to protect children from predators, or increase efforts to prosecute rapists, or any of these things… also protects male survivors. They’d rather poop on their natural allies, though.

“ what does feminism even have to do with this”.

Nothing. Except since its inception Feminism has been painted as “a bunch of man hating (slur of your choice)”.

People who didn’t want equal rights for women to go mainstream portrayed women who wanted rights as man-haters. There may be a few who do despise men; but it’s mostly propaganda.
