Fish can grow and thrive in different tanks.

Not sure if this is the right place but apparently I have a VERY unpopular opinion when it comes to the fish tank communities.

I feel that my tank is very pretty. But yes it has fake plants and yes I have a multitude of fish in a tank. But my fish are healthy, happy and the parameters are fine.

I have a 10 gallon tank that has a timed light to mimic the day and night cycle, a sponge filter, heater, duck weed, and 3 moss balls in it. Other than those live plants it’s all blue gravel, 2 fake logs, a fake rock formation and a bunch of fake plants. In that tank I have 5 black tetras, 5 rummy nose tetras, 3 venezuelan corys, 2 albino corys, and a hillstream loach with a bunch of little snails.

I am told that my tank is WAY overstocked with fish and that the hillstream loach is not thriving in my tank because it’s a cold water fish. However, the hillstream loach can thrive in 75°F waters and so can all the other species.

I have had this tank for 6 months with no issues other one bout of ich when I added the black tetras. All my water parameters are always fine, the tank is healthy, and the fish are healthy where is the problem?

I have another tank. A 5 gallon with the exact same set up except only 2 moss balls. It has a Betta and a hillstream loach. Again super healthy and happy.

So why do I get soo much hate for my tanks? Because I tell fish owners to have fun, you don’t have to have live plants in your tank for the fish to be happy and healthy but it is healthy for them. Because I tell people do your research, dont overload your tank and keep fish health in mind.

Example: Rummy noses are schooling fish. Don’t just get 2-3 you need at least 5. So I have a mixed school of 10 because I like the idea of multicolor schools. But I’m not gonna get any more fish for the 10 gallon because that will overload the tanks ecosystem.
