Fleetwood Mac sounded better before Stevie Nicks joined

r/

I need to specify that I am not commenting on the interpersonal relationships, her struggle with addiction, or her as a person. I strictly dont like her as the singer for Fleetwood Mac and think that the move to a Pop-rock sound was a change for the worse.

I think that the stretch of albums from Fleetwood Mac(’68) to Heroes are Hard to Find are better than those that came after. Not to say Rumors, Tusk, or Fleetwood Mac ’75 on their own arent amazing albums, I just dont like them as much as the previous experimental sounds.

It feels like nowadays, whenever anyone brings up Fleetwood Mac, they exclusively mean Rumors and after.

Okay. Definitely an unpopular opinion. But well-worded and non-confrontational, which I really respect. You have my upvote.

Upvoted as this is undeniably, by the numbers, an unpopular opinion

Lol YUP, that’s a REAL unpopular opinion. Upvoted.

    And it’s Rumours.

I agree with you to a certain extent (not entirely, shes a ledge) but I’m going to upvote you anyway.

I hate Stevie Nicks. Why she is favored over the way talented Chrissy is beyond me

Not sure it’s necessarily better, but they put out so much good stuff between 1970 and 1975, which people just ignore because its not Rumours.

    I think that’s a shame.

This is an unpopular opinion clearly, but I see where you’re coming from. I only recently listened to some of Fleetwood Mac’s earlier albums, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed them. They’re top-form 60s blues-rock.

    Its a different band.
I love peter greens fleetwood mac but its an entirely different beast.

I totally disagree, but I dont think this is that unpopular either. I almost think of Stevie/Lindsey Mac as a completely new band because they sound almost nothing like the previous versions.

My unpopular opinion is that Mirage and especially Tengo In The Night are super overrated. Christine’s songs on Tengo are the only saving grace.
