Former employer trying to sue me over Noncompete and defimation

Location: Michigan
I was fired from a Michigan based child care center a few months back. Since multiple people have pulled there children and some how the center thinks I’m to blame when I have not spoken with these families at all. The readon they think I’m to blame so because my child was abused while I was at this center. I had no idea until I walked in one day and saw a teacher hitting him. They deleted all footage of this so I have not evidence to back up these flames other then an email I sent to a higher up in the daycare. I also know for a fact that I was set up to get fired multiple times and written up for reporting secual hurasment. I also work more then the 10miles out from the previous center that I was at wich fallows the non compete agreement but there saying I can’t be within 10 miles of any location wich is not feasible since it’s a popular center in all of Michigan. Is there anything I can do to counter sue or get them to drop the law suit.
