From a six- figure earner to unemployed for the last two years. AMA.

I spent a decade and a half building a solid career with a high income job in a $44bn organisation. In 2023 I got divorced, had a mental breakdown and quit my job because of a toxic boss. My severance and divorce allowed me financial freedom and I now require very little to live.

You ever get the itch to join the rat race again? Or at least maybe an independent venture…?

Dang, that’s a wild ride. Props to you for navigating all that. Two years is a long time though, what have you been up to? What are your plans for the future? Curious to hear your perspective on work/life balance now, after all you’ve been through.

How much was your severance and what did you get in the divorce that allows you to live job free?

When did you last see your ex?

This was literally me. I made 300k but gave in to many vices in life. I decided to change careers and went back to school. Became a teacher. Don’t make nearly as much, but it’s put me on a different path in life.

I require much less to live. I don’t go to Vegas and party like I used to. But I am happier sober now. I do wish I had the luxuries of life without the sins
