Hey all! I’m trying to find some small gift ideas for my fiancé’s birthday, and I could use some help. He’s one of those people who already has everything and just buys whatever he wants—makes him super hard to shop for!
I’m already getting him tickets to a concert he’s been wanting to go to, but I’d love to add a few smaller, thoughtful things he can open on his actual birthday.
Here’s a bit about him:
-
Huge nerd—loves computers, video games (especially Dwarf Fortress, Skyrim, Fallout, Dungeons & Dragons, World of Warcraft)
-
Super into medieval fantasy, space, zombies, aliens, and anything Lord of the Rings
-
He’s got a great sense of humor and appreciates creative, unique gifts
-
We don’t have a ton of space at the moment, so I’m avoiding home decor or bulky items
I’d love ideas for small gifts, funny stuff, or even nerdy experiences. Any suggestions?
EDIT: He also LOVES mini dachshunds. We have 3.

Hey, huge nerd here—I just want to say it’s so sweet and thoughtful that you want to get your fiancé something that aligns with his interests!
Can you give us a budget and a timeline for the gifts?
One of the 8bitdo Retro Mechanical keyboards.
I have the C64 Keyboard + 10-Key and it’s easily one of my favorite nerd toys of all time. (And is also wildly satisfying to use as my main keyboard.)
They have NES and Famicom versions too, if that ones is TOO retro, but the Joystick & Buttons the C64 one comes with are lots of fun too.

Steam Gift Cards. Forget all that stigma about gift cards. As a gaming nerd myself, I understand how hard it is for my non-gaming wife to shop for me. I truly appreciate a Steam (or PlayStation, or Xbox since I play on all) gift card from her
This is gonna sound stupid, but trust me, he will adore this….
Get him a really good bamboo back scratcher. They are normally pretty cheap, like well under $20.00. But a good one is soooooo amazing. When you have a back itch in the middle of a 5 hour gaming session, that bamboo stick is a lifesaver.
I’m telling you, this is the thing to get. Log off reddit right now and go get him one.
Lord of the rings replica sword. I’m assuming he doesn’t have all of them already.

If he has a favorite character or prized OC, commission an artist to draw them for him. Then frame the artwork nicely and wrap it 🙂
