Girls who straighten their hair. What was the occasion and how was your hair after?

The occasion is… life? My hair is wavy/curly (3a/2c) but I’ve worn it straight/wavy (1b/1c) for 20+ years because I like how it looks and it’s easier for me to manage it daily.
I take good care of my hair with good products and the routine that works best for me, try not to abuse the heat and always use heat protectant spray, so it’s nice and healthy.
I have wavy hair and will straighten if I’ve slept on it wet. Otherwise I look like a cross between Melissa Etheridge and a Hanson brother
I wanted to straighten it that day, and my hair was great. I use good products to protect against heat and my hair is pretty healthy given how much I bleach it.
Not much deeper than that
I straightened my hair every day for like, 6 yrs lol. My hair was totally fine and healthy. I also used to curl it with a straightener for years after that.
I’ve been straightening my unruly frizzy, curly/wavy hair everyday since I was 12 years old.
Back then we would literally use an iron since straighteners weren’t completely mainstream yet. I would lay on the floor with a towel under me and my mom would go to town on it. There were a few times where she burnt my forehead but it was well worth it.
I really don’t feel “myself” without my hair straightened. I’ve been doing it for now 22 years. I blow dry it then straighten it about 2-3 times a week and then do “touch ups” in between. Its so much more manageable. I can actually brush my hair since you can’t properly brush curly hair, I can style it properly, its just so much easier and it looks cleaner. My hair is really healthy, I just use a straightening spray and a hair oil, nothing special.
I have thick naturally wavy hair but was a teenager in the 00s when pin straight hair was the style. I would try to straighten my hair with $30 straighteners and get mad it wasn’t perfect lol. Once I started using a $200 salon quality straightener and better products I got the look I wanted.
I stopped doing this though since it was time consuming and I eventually learned to love my wavy hair. Then beach waves came in style which is just my natural hair. Since I’ve stopped putting heat on my hair on almost a daily basis it grows A LOT faster.
