Was the tiktoking worth it
Just learn your lesson, own your mistakes, and be honest with your parents.
They’ll probably get a little mad, but that’s life.
YTA! You were employed to do a job for a set amount of time and instead of working you decided to goof off. Tell your parents you were not working and got fired because that is what happened.
That’s harsh. People check texts etc in workplaces all the time. Just be honest with your parents, honestly it sounds like you dodged a bullet anyway. Doesn’t sound like a great work environment.
Own it. You fucked up.
Hey, don’t stress too much mistakes like this are part of growing up. It sucks now, but it’s a small bump in the bigger picture. Own up to it, talk to your parents honestly, and learn from it. They might be disappointed for a moment, but they’ll appreciate your honesty. Just take it as a lesson and keep moving forward life goes on, and you’ll bounce back stronger.
You’re not going to be paid to watch TikTok.
Growing up time is gonna hit you hard if you don’t take responsibility for your own actions.
Learn this lesson once. Don’t let it happen at the next job.
Be honest with your parents. Take the punishment, move forward.
First of all, no one really pays attention to the first job you get. Not everyone works as a teenager, it’s not going to affect your future employment, this is not going on a permanent record that will pop up in 10 years.
That being said, it is important to learn how to function in the “real world.”
You don’t pull the cell phone out. You don’t check text messages. You don’t look at TikTok’s.
The best way to handle it is to put your phone on airplane mode and then put it in your pocket like it doesn’t exist. Because they are paying you to focus solely on that job for eight hours.
Rip the band aide off and tell them. If you can try to get another job before the end of the day.
Its fine people make mistakes but take it as a lesson and don’t do this again in another job and your parents will understand dw you’re good and ignore the negative things
Most places would have just given you a warning unless you were watching for hours.
In the grand scheme of your life this is a tiny mistake. As a parent myself, I’d be cool as long as my kid learnt a lesson. 15 year old getting fired from a minimum wage job isn’t exactly a major life event.
The muzz (manager huzz) got you
You pissed in your own cornflakes and will now have to eat them.
Do better next time
You’re only 15, just be honest, say you thought it would be fine as you’ve never worked before, you’ve learned your lesson and you’re disappointed with yourself. You’ll be fine mate
You can’t be on your phone.
Dumb ahh kid on his phone FA and FO.
“Mom, dad, I got fired from my job because I was on my phone when I wasn’t supposed to. I’m sorry for disappointing you.”
If my kid told me this, I would of course be upset, but I would also be proud of them for having some accountability and owning up to their mistake. It’ll be ok kid, tell your parents and don’t make this mistake again.
Just tell them you learned an important lesson today, and you’ll leave your phone in your jacket, etc., at your next job. Especially at your first day/week of work, they’re watching you to see a work ethic, so you work hard all day and never take your phone out for any reason. Turn it off and forget it exists until you’re done.
Explain to your parents what happened and ask for advice on workplace etiquette, something you wouldn’t be expected to know at 15. Get their advice on what is good to do and what will get you fired.
Got fired at my first job, sat at walmart until parents came and picked me up. Told my dad and he said theres no punishment, its all on me.
