I got into a wreck June 2nd with an insured driver, got all the insurance stuff worked out, decided to keep my car with salvage title as it was only the front bumper that took any damage.
June 26, I decided to go work again (Spark) and sure enough I got hit again, same spot, but this time much harder, she provided insurance, the car said it was valid March-September.
The claim handler has been out of office until June 14th and I just finally got through to her, she told me it appears that on the day I got in a wreck, the car was uninsured. I have dashcam footage, however, I don’t have a police report as she decided to cancel the cops and leave for a job interview (This is legal in NC, apparently we are a no fault state)
I doubt I would’ve really got much if any payout for the car with it being a salvage title, it was more about the fact of her being held accountable. Now though, if she wasn’t insured, but provided “valid” insurance to me, what does that mean for me? Can I do anything? With it having been a Salvage title, is there anything I need to know about scrapping it? Because if Insurance really can’t do anything I’m just gonna cut my losses and get money from scrapping it. But I’d like for their to be some consequences for her actions as well if I’m going to completely honest.
