Location: California.
I rent the master bedroom of a house and the owners of the house sold the house without letting us know. They gave no official eviction notice, just told us that we had to go by the end of August. Is there any legal way I can stay just a bit longer in case i have no where to move? Things are not good right now for us and we really need advice. Any help is welcome, thank you.

If you were a lodger as opposed to a tenant, once the notice period is up you can be removed as a trespasser.
Are you the only person renting a room in that house? Does the landlord also live there?
If so, you might be a lodger and you might be due only 7 day notice to vacate.
Even if you’re a tenant, there’s a good chance that you’re only due 30 day notice.
California has many city and county level tenant laws, so it really not possible to get more specific than that. Chances are that other than negotiating, you won’t be able to stay longer. But you should contact a local tenant group or lawyer for more specific advice.
My first thought was find a new place pronto. Then I notice you’re in CA. Now I understand the issue – I hope it works out for you and bf and puppers.
Where you at in California city wise and how long have you lived there? How many other tenants?
