So I don’t have a sense of smell, outside of super pungent chemicals, I can’t sense anything. Always been this way.
Today completely out of the blue a woman said in public “Wow you smell good.” I would’ve thought it was for someone else but there wasn’t anyone else. I told her thanks, and she was saying “yeah I don’t know if it’s the deodorant or the cologne but you smell good.” I told her I couldn’t smell and that I’ve always been super insecure. She was setting up a sign and I was debating if this was a “number situation.” So I went ahead and asked for her number.
She said no, told her it was ok, and thanked her again. She kept being like “yeah you smell great.” And we both parted ways. I was probably red as a tomato but it’s been the best compliment I’ve ever had. I asked my lab partner later and she told me I smelled great, and I think she was asking what it was so that she could tell her bf.
Overall 10/10. Made me super happy, and great. I live terrified of my body smell, so this was amazing.

I also have anosmia since birth! Fear of body odor is a huge thing for me and the few times someone has actually told me that I smell nice has been a glorious experience.
What were you wearing cologne wise? I’ll tell you if you smell good.
As someone who can smell, it may be helpful to know that when you shower daily and use antiperspirant, you will feel sweaty/sticky before you smell bad.
I can’t help but tell a man when he smells good. It’s so appealing.
