I’m shopping online for Mother’s Day gifts and browsing the recommended gift lists from different stores. In my 20 years of shopping online, I have never seen it that >50% of the Mother’s Day gifts are actually things for small children – children’s clothing, children’s toys, children’s accessories. Is this a new phenomenon? Are you seeing the same?
To note, I don’t have children, don’t spend time with anyone with children, and do not shop for children, so I don’t think this is just my algorithm.

I just read a story the other day in which most of the suggestions for gift for “your mother” were for moms of little bitty kids, or babies.
The outlet was aimed at adult women; our own moms are not really breastfeeding or walking our siblings around in strollers.
And they were aimed at helping her with motherhood.
My daughter is the age of the readers, and she’s not going to be buying me stuff to make it easier to get sleep when the baby’s crying. I’m over 50, ffs.
It’s probably just AI churning out garbage.
