Hard-boiled eggs are better cold

r/

I love boiling eggs, throwing those suckers in the fridge overnight, eating ’em cold the next day. Better than hot every time!

Does not apply to any other form of egg, eg. softboiled, scrambled, fried etc.

edit: okay dang guess I’m not special after all. I guess I thought eating them hot was normal because that’s what our family always did when I was a kid.

    Who doesn’t eat them cold?

  3. Square-Platypus4029 Avatar

    I don’t think that’s unpopular or unusual.

  4. dragonfly325 Avatar

I would think the unpopular opinion would be eating them warm. Never known anyone to eat them warm.

You now do the same as everyone else, well done.

You’re supposed to chuck them in an ice bath right after you boil them anyway.

  7. king-of-new_york Avatar

I like mine fresh but cold. Like sitting in an ice bath fit a few minutes after cooking.

Anyone like them hot? Isn’t this how they are supposed to be consumed?

Also try pickled eggs. Those things are so good.

I don’t think this is unpopular. I know I’d much rather eat a soft boiled egg warm, the yolk gets weird to me after it cold, but hard boiled eggs? That’s how most people eat them, right. Deviled eggs, egg salad sandwich, pickled eggs, added to other salads. I rarely eat hard boiled eggs hot/warm.

    Hard-boiled eggs are better soft-boiled

  11. pip-whip Avatar

I’ve never heard of anyone eating a hard boiled egg hot.

Perhaps you are thinking of softboiled eggs, but that is a totally different thing.

  12. _llamba_ Avatar

You are supposed to throw them in ice water after they’re done cooking lol. So by default they are cold.

  13. hamburgergerald Avatar

I don’t think I’ve ever had a hot hard-boiled egg. Even if I eat one right after making them they’ll have gotten cold in their ice bath.

  14. DaveyDumplings Avatar

I can’t remember ever hearing of anyone eating them hot. Must be a bitch to peel.

  15. BokChoyFantasy Avatar

Marinate them (like a ramen egg).

  16. slothtolotopus Avatar

Nothing like couple warm hard eggs in my mouth to invigorate my soul.

  17. Mxcharlier Avatar

I’ll often have hot hard boiled eggs on toast.
Smoosh em up a bit and bung them on buttery toast…yummy.

They’re in a few traditional curry recipes too, also really yummy.

Who eats warm hard boiled eggs?

Warm soft boiled eggs but never hard boiled.

  19. eastkent Avatar

Of course they are. Who eats them hot?

  20. SirGeremiah Avatar

I think this is the usual opinion.

  21. HelloDeathspresso Avatar

    Is this not everyone’s opinion??

  22. No-Tonight-3751 Avatar

This is typical, not even remotely unpopular

  23. Motorcycle1000 Avatar

    I eat them frozen.

  24. Financial_Sweet_689 Avatar

I’ll eat them any way. I love eggs.

  25. jsand2 Avatar

I will be honest. I eat around 2 hard boiled eggs per day and in my 40+ years of life am not sure I have ever eaten a warm/hot hard boiled egg!

Your family was a bunch of freaks.

  27. Ok-Car-5115 Avatar

    Very un-unpopular opinion. Sorry.

  28. Intelligent_Pop1173 Avatar

They’re meant to be served cold. The difference between cold and warm deviled eggs is pretty significant.

  29. ugonlearn Avatar

Both suck regardless, but people eat these smelly things warm ??

    Who’s eating them hot? Yuck!
