With the 4chan hack having happened, everyone is talking about its history, and a lot of articles mentioned it was tied to several mass shootings. I am aware this is a stereotype, but I don’t know if there is proof. The sources don’t mention what those shootings are. After looking, I honestly couldn’t find any, except one claimed one in 2015 – but according to the FBI, they went to the poster’s house and it was apparently entirely unrelated to the shooting, just a very stupid joke. Despite being aware this is a stereotype with 4chan, I couldn’t find any real ones. Why would the site be blamed for it if they aren’t any actual shootings there, or were there? There were a few with 8chan but after a while of searching I couldn’t find any 4chan ones. 8chan was a different website

It’s a haven for the socially retarded so I’d say there’s a greater than 50% chance that someone like Elliot Rodger would have posted or lurked there.
But it’s also like saying Facebook is tied to multiple mass shootings since for a decade basically everyone with internet access had a FB page.
