Has anyone here got clean from drugs in their 30s and still built a great life? If so, What have you accomplished?

Has anyone here got clean from drugs in their 30s and still built a great life?

32 years old and 43 months clean from meth and oxy. Can I still build a great life and get with a beautiful and caring woman? My sister who never was addicted and who lived a straight edge life thinks says I’ll never have a great life and thinks shes better than me.

I hate to generalize, but having had several straight-edge friends, “I’m better than you” is kind of their creed, so don’t let that attitude get you down.

Yes, it’s very possible to build yourself a good life in your 30s, or even starting in your 40s. It all depends on what you want to do, your initiative, and how hard you’re willing to work for it. Congrats on staying clean, friend.

Your sister sounds like a jerk. DM me and I’ll tell you my story. I turned my life around in my 30s and am successful by many typical measures. It’s 100 percent possible to turn your life around, regardless of age or past experience.

I got sober when I was 27, and I am 35 now…. just bought a house. It’ll take some time, but you can do it dude. If youre working a program, keep coming back. Set small goals and aim towards something greater with each small goal achieved. You got this.

1000%! I’m not a man (29F) but came here to say, you got this. I bet getting off of meth and oxy was very difficult but you did it. It’s never too late to start building a great life and the beautiful thing about life is, you can build and live whatever life you want💚 you are enough and you are beautiful

My career started at 31. I started late, but the success has been great. You can do it! Believe in yourself. Every day in the morning, when you look in the mirror, say these words:

“If it is to be, it’s up to me.”

Then, go work on your goals. Be patient, and in time, you will achieve your goals.

I’m 34, been sober a couple months, in a sober living and done with this lifestyle. I hope so. Good luck bud . You got it

Got clean? Yes. Built a great life? No.

Too much damage was done to my finances and criminal record (not a felon but still affects jobs and living situations)

Too many doors have been closed to live a great life. I have an okay life. I’ve certainly had worse. But I’m not ever going to be able to build the life I want.

I do like myself a lot more than I used to. Have a lot more self esteem and self respect. But the world won’t ever let me forget who I was.

I feel I’m pretty much running out the last 10% of my life.

I’ve never had to get clean from drugs, but I know the one thing that has helped others I know in this type of situation is to move away. Start over new somewhere where you can be whoever you want to be and don’t have to worry about people like your sister
