I work in healthcare with outpatients in this case. I work closely with doctors. A while back, while preparing for a study, someone slipped a piece of paper into my hands. ‘I’m in danger, narcissist, help’
Not quite sure what to do my colleagues contacted our direct doctor who came and spoke to the person who said the abusers were waiting for her .
Not too many details due to privacy. But my colleague and the doctor intervened and brought the person to safety while the abusers were isolated.
My colleagues who know a lot (and are also aware of my therapy, I was already okay) came to give me a hug afterwards and asked if I was okay.
Seeing the intervention here, seeing victims being believed without any doubt, that did me good too. Hopefully this person will come out of this well too. But my heart is healed a little more by being able to help.
