Hit by a driver with a suspended license

Looking for advice or any direction with how to handle

Location: Colorado

I bought a new car and was running errands when out of nowhere I was hit by a woman who was driving with a suspended license. She tried to leave the scene but thankfully I could drive and I caught up with her where she pulled over. Long story short, she was driving her son’s car with a suspended license. She was arrested at the scene and I was left with a damaged car. There were no witnesses as she left the scene and my sister is considered bias. The police report states that her car collided into mine but it does not says who was at fault. While insurance figures that out I am left with having to pay my deductible to get my car fixed. Which I did.

I do not know how long insurance takes to resolve these issues but it’s my honest opinion that if she was following the law, this would have never happened.

I just moved to Colorado for my job and quite honestly paying my deductible just about cost me everything. I’ve missed work being as I drive from Colorado Springs to Denver airport. I’ve spent hours on the phone and nights completely sick to my stomach.

Now that my car is being picked up I would like to know what can I do? Do I have a case? What kind of lawyer would I contact for something like this? Do they take them pro bono? If not, I would definitely pay because I truly want consequences as I feel I suffered from her poor choices.

Thank you for any and all advice.
