Honest question. Why is insider trading not being prosecuted?

During many years, government corruption in USA has been low, I’d say, and highly prosecuted. Or at least that’s the impression I get, when a politician was caught cheating (like the Watergate scandal), it was, well, a scandal.

However in the last years for what I’ve seen, insider trading is not even hidden. Some people invest a ton of money just before an announcement and it doesn’t get investigated, it’s not in the news. Some politicians get rich before making a law that impacts an economic sector

I don’t understand why you leave this happen. There is a lot of corruption in my country, but at least it’s a bit hidden, even when evident.
