So many people get really excited about hot cross buns at Easter time.
They are just raisin bread rolls. The different flavour versions (chocolate chip, no fruit) are even worse. Then someone at work insists on bringing them in to the office and microwaving them. No. Nobody wants lightly microwaved bread.
If you like hot cross buns you can have my share.

They are kinda overrated, I don’t mind them but it’s no different from a teacake tbh
Cool, I will have your share gladly.
Toasted with butter is quite nice but 1 is more than enough for like 6 months. I wouldn’t miss them if they disappeared off the face of the earth
…microwaving hot cross buns? What the actual fuck? Please respect the buns and toast them as god intended.
TIL hot cross buns are an actual bakery item in the modern world, not just the object of an old song
I like them toasted in the oven with copious amounts of butter.
The…song?
> They are just raisin bread rolls
Hell yeah 🎸🎸
It depends on where you buy them
The guardian has a piece right now on whose hot cross buns and good and which are not so I think it depends a lot on where you get them.
I absolutely hate hot cross buns but I do know how to make good ones because my entire family thinks they are brilliant. The spice is key.
I didn’t know that was anything other than a song I heard once
I like hot cross buns but just not the plain ones. Some people think the ones with fruit/chocolate are too sweet but I personally think they’re pretty great~ Ones without are just too bland imo
I had this exact same opinion until exactly today. Caramel hot Cross buns changed my mind.
