How can I continue powerlifting without jeopardizing my pelvic muscles?

r/

I’ve been powerlifting and Olympic lifting since I was 12, and I’m now 26. I tend to urinate frequently and have difficulty holding my bladder, but I didn’t think much of it since I drink a gallon of water each day. However, since becoming sexually active, my partners have pointed out that I feel loose, which has been really heartbreaking for me.

I started doing kegel exercises at night and using ben wa balls in the morning, but I saw very little improvement. Eventually, I stopped lifting weights for the first time in 14 years. Within just two months of not lifting and occasionally doing my pelvic floor exercises, I noticed a significant tightening in my vagina. Now, I sometimes struggle to fit the balls in when I’m not relaxed and well-lubricated.

I’m scared to go back to lifting because I’ve finally found a solution to one of my biggest insecurities, and my sex life feels so much improved. However, I really love being strong. How can I continue powerlifting without jeopardizing my pelvic muscles?

That’s called hypertonia, and this level of tension can harm your health. Your pelvic floor is a composed of flexible muscles. It’s supposed to be able to relax and flex at will. Too much tonality can lead to urinary and bowel issues, painful sex, muscle strain, and more.

Any partner who calls your vagina “loose,” isn’t worth being with. You’re a person, not a fleshlight. It sounds like he has spent his life jerking and is surprised that a vagina doesn’t grip as tightly as his hand. He can fuck right off.
