How can I fight the lie that I shouldn’t reach out to people – that it’s inserting myself into their life and too forward/assuming?

r/

I have people in my outer circle I’d like to invite into my inner circle. But I constantly fight the lie that I shouldn’t because of the reasons in the title. I’ve also been pretty open on my social media the past few years about my mental health journey (that is improving, so for the most part they’re not gloomy) – I love writing/sharing my poetry that speaks about deep things. It’s so easy for me to feel shame, thinking oh people have seen enough of my thoughts, they won’t want this. So, fighting a few lies and would love stories or advice!

    Remember that
1.) they can always say no

2.) a lot of people feel the same as you and we’re kind of in an age where everyone is stuck but usually wants more connection

3.) you have had experiences of being reached out to and included and you might have a good sense of how it feels, how intrusive it was, etc.

Do you like when people invite you to stuff?  Yeah, so do other people.

Get in contact with people and stay in contact with them. Build relationships with improving people. This is a relationship in which knowing each other makes you each, better individuals. These relationships are balanced and satisfying.
