I can say with absolute certainty that this is not common at all.

Define young. It’s a problem if a man looks like a teenager in his fourties’ or fifties. Late 20s to early 30s is the sweet spot for youthful but no one mistaking you as a child.

This definitely is not a problem. No one middle aged is complaining about looking young.

I don’t look super young, but younger than I am. Coworkers treat me like the new kid, even though I’ve been there longer than several of them. Girls way too young for me are interested until they find out how old I am, girls my age either won’t give me the time of day or lose interest because they specifically wanted a younger guy to chase them. It’s not all bad, of course, but it has its moments.

you can make yourself look older/more professional easily

I look young for my age and look too young for women my age and I’m actually too old for the girls that show interest in their mid 20s.

I looked like I was 19 at the age of 32 and like the Cryptkeeper at 33. Dudes age weird, it’s all or nothing.

Mother Nature was very kind to me by given me a younger look then i was in reality😳

I recently had someone guess that I’m 45, when I’m actually 61. My wife is older than I am and this occasionally results in awkward moments when people address us as “you and your mother”.

I have enough joints reminding me that I’m not actually 45, regardless of my looks.

I am mid 30s and I get carded all the time

    Kinda annoying at this point

    I love it. No complaints.

What kind of question is this? Who would complain about looking younger than their actual age?

Yep its not a good thing, not now but in the past you get laughed away by girls because you look so young, workplaces won’t believe you during interviews when going over experience and then staff who don’t interact with you much (HR) will treat you as younger less experience staff so think lower pay offers etc.

I get mistaken for early 20s (and even a recent high school graduate), despite being 30. I don’t care because I’m not bad looking, and because I want to age well.

My secrets: no alcohol, cigarettes or drugs at all. Also, I exercise 7 days a week.

I am 47, and most people think I am in my early 30s. It’s great, but that is a more recent development. I looked 16 at 25, and at 35, I looked like I was in my early 20s. As a man, it really sucked getting treated like a kid.

Oh, I have a full head of hair, and I got my first gray hair at 46.

Fuck that, looking young is a lot of fun… they call me a dilf.. and I can handle that

It’s tough in the workplace. I’m in leadership at a Mag7. There’s generally some confusion the first time I meet people, and I believe I do face ageism.

    Putting on muscle helped.

I act, and my agent has to submit me for roles 18-25 even though I’m 30…figure time is on my side, and I’m in no rush to enter a less competitive audition pool!

I’m 43, get guessed for 28-29. It was flattering at first being approached by girls in their mid twenties, but the constant need for having to tell them I’m not the age they think I am is wearing me down. It’s not fun in the least. It’s the only context in which I have to keep talking about my age, the few that react like I’ve told them I’m a pedophile always hurt. Also where the hell are the women in their late thirties??

I look pretty young and cant grow facial hair. In my experience most women dont like that.

What age do you think middle-aged is?

  22. mcdudelidoo Avatar

I look about 10 years younger than i am. It was frustrating being treated like a kid until i hit my 40s. Looking like 30s has been good to me.
