How common is it to use patience and restraint with coworkers, and relieved afterwards that they didn’t snap?

I’ve been at my job for a long time, I can also be direct and aggressive, but I’ve learned over the years to “keep the peace”. The problem with a job you dislike is that everything is *amplified…*so something petty/trivial, eg, ribbing, would make you seethe with anger.

This happened a couple of times today, and instead of lashing out, I internalized it. Maybe it’s maturity, maybe it’s logic (tension could lead to firing meaning $$$ lost!) But coming home, I was actually relieved I didn’t get into anyones face. My coworkers are losers to begin with, so it’s hard to be offended.

I thought to myself aferwards “That’s all I had to put up with to make an easy $_____?!?” I’ll take it! Not only that, not stirring shit up means you’re still on good terms. Dodged a bullet there.

Normal sane individuals do this every day.

The crazy ones let loose and don’t think about any future consequences.

Unless they were putting others in danger or slacking off and making you work harder, patience is good. I hate conflict so ignoring it would always be my preferred option

Your employees definitely don’t like you. I promise.

Hate to be so blunt but if you think they are losers, then you need to find another job and go to therapy, bruh.

I work in healthcare, and probably ‘like’ about 10% of my colleagues. The rest, I personally couldn’t give a fuck about. There’s one particular person however, who I actively despise. And, if I wasn’t as in control of my psychotic urges as I am, I would have sent them down to A+E a long time ago. I’m just good at holding back my crazy side.

Either you’re a teenager and this is a McDonald’s or you have some sort of personality disorder.

Everyone uses patience and restraint all the time.

You really should never get into fights with coworkers no matter what they do or what you may think of them. It’s not worth it.

    Think about it like this:

Is this my company? If no, then control yourself.
If yes, then really control yourself.

If you have coworkers or management who are doing something wrong let them sink themselves.

If you cannot separate yourself from that situation go find another place to work.
