I was having a conversation with my friend who said he never saw an underage driver before and that it was an extremely bad idea. Where I grew up was considered rural or “big country”. So, a lot of times seeing children drive around was normal because it was open field and no one was there. I remember driving on the road when I was 10 or 11 since my dad taught me early and he needed help getting stuff moved around.
How common is it in your country?

Common in my neck of the woods in rural Canada. I taught my daughter to drive at 14, mostly on old logging roads.
If something happened to me in the backcountry while we were out there, I needed to know she can get herself back.
‘Cause shit happens.
