Never been perfectly happy with my body, but when I lost weight and got in better shape I was more confident, I had more energy, the strength I gained from working out made day to day tasks much easier and more enjoyable. Now I wake up early and do my workout and start my day with my workout and it makes me feel like I can tackle any challenges the day throws at me
Better mood, more energy, more confidence, women viewed me as an individual with sexual/romantic prospects, stopped smoking because it hurt my performance in the gym, turned down my drinking for the same reasons. You’ll feel a whole lot better about yourself when a pair of pants that was snug 6 weeks ago is loose on your body
Carrying 20 extra pounds is a burden. Your joints will thank you for keeping it off. I didn’t want to be one of those guys that just let’s themselves go. I want to be attractive to my partner, and I very much didn’t want that bulging gut older men tend to get.
Weight loss by itself is just a barometer of what is going on in your body. You are beating insulin resistance – the single most deadly condition that causes a wide range of physical deterioration from gut to liver to kidneys to heart. The main culprit is food. Control your food intake and what type of food you eat and you are at least 50% of the way there. The rest is exercise, sleep and staying away from bad habits that destroy your body. The average age when an American male will have some type of chronic disease is about 63. Which means even if they live longer their lives are going to be shit.
So ask yourself – do you want to work until you are 63 and find that you are screwed, or do you want to retire well and do stuff the next 20 or so years? Your call.
I was 300 pounds, had a major health scare. I started exercising and eating right. I ended up losing 150 pounds. It changes everything, you no longer lose your breath walking upstairs, your knees know longer carry around all that extra weight, you look good, you feel good. You gain a confidence about yourself. You get hit on, you get checked out. You no longer feel like the pig eating all the food, and when someone farts it’s not automatically the fat guy. When you go to the doctor you will hear how much this weight loss has improved your long term health and the benefits already from losing the weight.
It truly is life changing and I encourage everyone to challenge themselves to rock out your health.
I can go on rides at the carnival and amusement parks again! I may have at my biggest actually. But wouldn’t even attempt going on one, to avoid the walk of shame back after not being able to put the lap belts/harnesses on

I started to like exercising more and more. It is fun to keep challenging yourself to become better 🙂
It gave me more energy and it made daily tasks easier. A sad but true experience was that I was treated remarkably better by both men and women
To put it simply, after losing 15kg/33lbs in 2 to 3 months :
-I run faster and feel lighter, cool when you love sport.
-I’m no longer annoyed when trying some clothes in stores because everything fits, the problem becomes whether it is too large or not.
-I’m more often looked at and interacted with.
-I feel less tired.
-There are still many physical aspects that annoy me, but I certainly feel better about myself in that regard. It’s traduced by more confidence too.
-I have less often pimples on my head (tho likely due to permanently modified food habits).

I saw a different person physically and I liked it

I had to spend money on new smaller clothes

I’m more social, people treat me much better even though I’ve never actually been obese. Dating/relationships/sex went from impossible to fun.
I can keep up with my friends when hiking. Stairs are a breeze now. I basically feel light as Legolas.
I feel more confident and comfortable in my body

Also manscaping is way easier now haha
