Over the past 8 months or so I’ve become pretty depressed and burnt out, and I’m trying to figure out how to be happy and enjoy things again.
35M, currently live with my gf in a city on the west coast that I moved to after finishing up a grad program a few years ago.
It’s mostly my job that’s driving a lot of my sorrows. It’s stressful, demanding, and I’m always “on” since I have to be available for clients.
Most of my family and friends are on the east coast, and I hope to move back there in a couple of years.
In the meantime, what has worked for all of you to get through depression or burnout? I find that I’m easily irritated, exhausted, find little to no interest in things (anhedonia), and my motivation is low.
I feel like I’m just languishing and watching my life pass me by, and I hate it. I want to live and enjoy life, not waste my life.
What worked for all of you?
