How did your body change after pregnancy, birth & breastfeeding?

r/

Were the changes mainly temporary or permanent? Being completely honest, how do you feel about the changes?

I didn’t breastfeed my 5 children. Pregnancy did ruin my breasts though so I got them fixed after my last. Otherwise, having babies didn’t really change my body much. I have a high metabolism and am naturally pretty small and I bounced back pretty quickly except the last time…I held onto an extra 20-25 lbs after that for probably 2 years, then it was like my metabolism kicked back in and it came off in a matter of a couple of months lol.

My body “bounced back” as people like to say but it definitely has changes that most people dont notice.

I just had my 2nd child last month. Currently I am breastfeeding, but I know after having my first that my boobs hang a little lower and deflated a bit. I was a 32DD and now I am a 32C. Also the skin is crepey which is the worst part since I feel that ages my chest. My stomach never got stretch marks since I have tiny babies but overall it just feels softer. Stomach doesnt bother me like the chest does.

I’m 4 months postpartum, here are the changes that I’ve noticed so far:

    • I have a few stretch marks on my hips and tummy

    • my boobs are bigger and probably will be saggier after I stop breastfeeding

    • my clothes don’t fit like they used to despite me being back at my pre pregnancy weight, I guess my weight is distributed differently now

    • my hair is falling out, I have visible bald spots near my hairline

    • my period is way lighter than it used to be, this may be due to breastfeeding though

    • I got my first ever cavity while I was pregnant

Weight for sure. Always had trouble, but so much worse after kids/aging.

    Muscles weakened, especially core.

Breastfeed both kids. Loss of elasticity. Size didn’t really change, a bit bigger, but they really dropped.

Ended up having gallbladder issues induced by pregnancy and had to have it removed.

    Hair loss postpartum.

Feet changed size and never went back down.

I didn’t have any uterine/bladder issues, but I know women often do.

I’m 5’ 3” and extremely short waisted so my belly got HUGE with my pregnancies, so I have a lot of stretch marks. I also breastfed both kids so my nipples are bigger than they used to be and the gals are saggier I guess, but not terrible. They don’t bother me. My tummy with all the stretch marks and droopy pooch of skin DID bother me a lot so I had a mini tuck last year to remove it! SUPER happy with it! I also had my sacroiliac joint not go back together quite right and had lower back pain for YEARS… but I started CrossFit about 18 months ago and now I have NO back pain at all. Lastly, I had gestational diabetes with both kids so my A1C is an issue now as I get older. I’m making changes to my diet so that I don’t have to go back on insulin!

The only change is that my boobs are bigger and softer. Otherwise, I look exactly the same as I did pre-pregnancy,

It didn’t change at all, except weight gain but after I got rid of those extra kilos my body was back to how it was.

    Some stuff is permanent.

My abdomen did good as far as no marks.

My boobs have and will have stretch marks and creases forever.

That’s what happens when you’ve got a good supply and 8lb at birth babies.

It’s fine. Now I do wear a swimsuit wth built in shape wear because my stomach is just a little softer than I would like. Also fine

I’ve had four babies and I’ve breastfed all four of them exclusively. In my 20s with my first two kiddos, my body snapped back and I looked great. But in my 30s it was much harder after each pregnancy to lose the weight and keep it off. Of course your breasts start to sag with age so they do not look the same as they did in their 20s. Stretch marks happen. My hair has changed as well. My hair feels more brittle and thinner. I also struggle to have my hair grow longer, even though I put oils, conditioner, and take hair pills. Even with all this happening to my body, I still love all my kiddos.

Got sciatica, chronic low iron and got diastasis recti in my abs which I didn’t know was a thing but I used to joke it looks like an alien is in my belly when I lean backwards lol

Other than that nothing bad changed. I have PCOS so I already was blessed with mama pouch, stretch marks and semi squishy not fluffy breasts. If anything, having babies helped my boobs get bigger – I was an A cup with tiny pointy boobies. I’m a C cup but they aren’t rounded and are still pointy and never have been full round tata’s but Im okay with that because I at least have them now lol

The loose skin and apron belly. Breastfed both kids for almost a year and a half and my boobs are pretty much the same so that’s nice! I did also notice that I orgasm way easier now so that’s an amazing plus 🤭

My stomach has stretch marks and is saggy, my boobs basically deflated, my hair is thinner and my feet are half a size larger (I was already a size 11 pre pregnancy!!!)

I love my child to pieces but man I do miss my old body sometimes
