How do gym girls prevent camel toe?

r/

I’m a girl and I recently purchased my first set of leggings shorts for the gym. I’ve never owned leggings before so I was quite excited.

Unfortunately despite having no middle seam and a little patch in the middle it still gives me a camel toe. I’ve tried panty liner. Double panty liner. And cutting out a rectangle of foam from a bra cup to fit into the panty insert. They all crease in the middle. Double panty liner lasts 5 mins or range of motion testing before it bends.

How do other girls always have perfect seamless crotches? They look like Barbie dolls and I’m over here getting upset and stressed that I have a vagina?-? That has shapes I guess?

I would like help fitting into society please šŸ‘

Thank you.

Stop worrying about it, no one cares. Just do your workout, no one is looking at your foof.

  2. Ornery_Dot1397 Avatar

I don’t have that issue, I make sure the tights aren’t too tight.

  3. Key_Supermarket_3752 Avatar

I was staring at mine this morning while doing hip thrusts on smith machine facing a mirror. šŸ˜…šŸ«£

  4. Iheartpuppies04 Avatar

I think it’s more noticeable with legging shorts vs long leggings. They sit differently. Not sure you can avoid it, other than trying no-front-seam ones.

  5. killer_sheltie Avatar

I don’t wear tight leggings; problem solved.

  6. Rough-History-707 Avatar

Speaking as a man, don’t try to hide it. We don’t mind

  7. Lucycoopermom Avatar

I don’t care. It a body part and I’m there to workout.

  8. Civil-Shopping2042 Avatar

I have cycling underwears that I use with gym clothes.

  9. fullscratchdisk Avatar

Wasn’t expecting all the jerks in the comments.

OP if you have thicker cotton underwear that could help, if all else fails a panty liner would work.

  10. gothiclg Avatar

Leggings should be bought in 2 sizes: the size you think you need and the next size up. If the size you think you need gives to camel toe the next size up might not. You can then return the too large pair depending on the company

  11. Jaded_Statement3631 Avatar

Sounds like they are too small

  12. Fancy_Environment133 Avatar

Legging shorts are necessary to work out

  13. KawaiiBibliophile Avatar

I wear longer shirts to cover that area because sometimes pants fit and then next week you’re a bit bloated and they don’t fit as well.

  14. Ok-Following-1841 Avatar

I would recommend trying out some different brands šŸ™‚ no one size fits all. Dfyne and Alphalete have never given me a camel-toe, they both have thick, good quality material that doesn’t ride up. People rave about Gymshark but I avoid it like the plague for the camel toe reason alone lol. Don’t beat yourself up. It’s the leggings, not you.

  15. Additional_Initial_7 Avatar

Some women have different anatomy than others. If you do as much as you can comfortably I wouldn’t overly worry about it.

Yes it might be noticeable but if it’s not obviously intentional no one should stare. If they do that tells you more about them than it does about you.

  16. Past-Conversation303 Avatar

I use an always foam pad. Try it.

  17. LittyForev Avatar

As a guy who goes to the gym I am not looking at your camel toe. That would be wrong. I’m looking at your ass.

  18. AliceInNegaland Avatar

I would wear a panty liner

  19. sta_sh Avatar

My spouse couldnt easily avoid it due to the size of her lips so that could be another aspect of your situation to figure out. We had to find her a brand of underwear that had a wide enough crotch area and fits well under her gym clothes and we finally cracked the case. Thankfully these aren’t granny panties so she still feels cute in them but that was a huge part of the problem. The brand was ice breakers btw

Edit: changed can’t to couldn’t easily

  20. Isgortio Avatar

I wear granny pants under mine, never had a camel toe from it. I also don’t wear leggings that are designed to have a wedgie on the back.

  21. mysticaltater Avatar

do people not wear underwear with leggings? i don’t work out but i do have athletic leggings for walking and theyve never been up in my business. but i do wear panties and liners so maybe that helps

  22. smokes666 Avatar

mound town is on trend though?

  23. Soft-Brilliant2211 Avatar

I just use liners and put it higher

  24. jalapenoeyes Avatar

I mean, labia come in all different shapes and sizes. Some are pretty flat. Me personally, I got a fat foof, so I struggle with tight clothes a lot more.

The other commenters already gave you the answers: bigger sizes, different brands, longer shirts, not wearing tight pants šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø It’ll take some trial and error, most likely.Ā
    Good luck!

  25. CenterofChaos Avatar

Underwear, size up for the leggings. You’re less likely to notice someone else’s because you’re standing further away. Darker colored leggings hide shadows more and obscure creasing more. Don’t hike them up high, let them sit where they fall.Ā

  26. Wonderful_Bottle_852 Avatar

Proper sized leggings, proper sized undergarments.

  27. donttellmykids Avatar

They sell a product on Amazon for this. I thought it was silly, but apparently it’s a concern?

    Prevent Cameltoe

  28. bbgvirgo Avatar

I know this may sound weird but idk how else to describe it. If you look up how to make your butt look better in leggings they will show you this maneuver that does make the booty look bigger but in my opinion helps with camal toe as all that extra fabric will go towards your bum instead of lady parts

  29. lemonygingertea Avatar

Seamless panties hiked up. So that it compresses my lady bits a bit.

  30. fort-e-too Avatar

I wear jogger pants/capris. No problem with camel toes there.

  31. Azdak66 Avatar

There is always something on the internet. Google ā€œcamel toe concealerā€ and you should find range of products to consider. You could also google something like ā€œhow do dancers hide camel toeā€ and you might find some different products more suitable for active exercise.

  32. SilentJoe1986 Avatar

My ex used a specially made insert to stop hers from showing. I can’t remember the brand. I think it was called Camel Stop? I’m not sure if that’s the name. It did work. It went from looking like her crotch was trying to eat her clothes to not being able to tell.

  33. chrispygene Avatar

Free the nipple! Show the toe!

  34. kaalli12 Avatar

Hey OP, there are plenty underwear brands that have underwear for this exact reason. I’m not sure exactly which, but a friend of mine uses them for the gym and swears by them! Worth a Google.

  35. Azilehteb Avatar

Search ā€œcamel toe concealerā€ on amazon

  36. lionandlime Avatar

The colour makes a different too. I avoid light coloured leggings because they just show too much for me

  37. OceanSupernova Avatar

It’s all down to whatever makes you comfortable OP, if you’re comfortable then you shouldn’t give a damn what other people think. I’m pretty sure there are girls out there who’re really jealous that yours is so shapely and you’re jealous theirs are so flat… Being a girl sounds hard lol.

  38. OddPerspective9833 Avatar

An awful lot of them don’t

  39. omfgjanne Avatar

Thicker fabric. Fabric with patterns. Mines the worst with this

  40. Xanikk999 Avatar

Isn’t it for a similar reason male ballet dancers wear dance belts (to avoid male genital bulge) when wearing tights? Do women have anything similar?

  41. MyOtherCarIsAHippo Avatar

Who cares? You can see by buddy’s dick like. Although, many men are degenerates so I am now reading this as a way to not be gawked at. Shit girl, that is tough.

    Maybe wear men’s boxer briefs?

  42. blue51planet Avatar

I think it’s worse when the leggings are thin. I’ve got a couple of different ones, and the ones that are thicker don’t ride up as much.

  43. HowWeRoll7071 Avatar

I think a Pic would help us help you

  44. verminkween Avatar

I just don’t lol. People don’t care and it’s not as bad as you think it is, I promise. I see girls all the time that have slight cameltoe in their leggings and I think nothing of it, that’s what made me realize they probably think nothing of it too when it’s happening to me.

It’s a self conscious thing more than anything, the majority of people don’t notice or care. Girls that don’t ever have a cameltoe probably also have little to no lips down there.

  45. bipolarnonbinary94 Avatar

I wear a baggy shirt/sweatshirt most of the time and it usually covers my crotch

  46. butternutflies Avatar

Who cares about that in a gym tho? People are there to work out, not to pay attention to other’s crotches…? Everybody is too preoccupied with themselves and their workout, or they have all their focus on their phone… Nobody is paying attention to the shape of your vageen lmao wut you’re good girl stop overthinking it honestly

  47. JakeStout93 Avatar

I’ve heard people say yesterdays newspaper

  48. hippityhoppflop Avatar

I find that no middle seam makes it worse than having one. Not sure why though

  49. Mammoth_Energy3795 Avatar

They make ā€œcamel toe concealersā€ if you just search on Amazon you can get a gist! They’re basically like pasties for down there and slide into your underwear. I will say you have to find ones that won’t shift if you’re doing a lot of moving but I found one with a sticky back that works decently well. Sizing up helps most of the time I don’t need it but there are a few pairs I’ll pull it out for. Hope that helps!

  50. feelweirdman Avatar

    I wear a panty liner

  51. micrographia Avatar
    1. They’re too small. Size up and try for fitting undies and a liner.

    2. The brand might not be fitted well, or not well for your body. The fabric might not have a weave that lays flat against the body. The only brand I wear now for leggings is Lululemon bc of the exceptional fit.

  52. threeputtsforpar Avatar

According to my stupid instagram algorithm, they don’t.

  53. curvipossum Avatar

If it really annoys me I put a liner on in my underwear but I usually get a bigger size of leggings

  54. OkCaptain1684 Avatar

Everyone’s anatomy is different, some girls are more prone to it. I’ve never had a camel toe before, but even if I did, I just wouldn’t really care tbh. I have seen these underwear they sell for camel toes with a more sturdy crotch area so maybe look into those.

  55. rooroosterchips Avatar

Unpopular opinion: I just accept the camel toe. It’s almost inevitable for me if the leggings fit correctly in other parts. I figure we’re all adults focused on working out, and we all end up looking pretty rough after a good workout anyways.

    Just my 2 cents

  56. Bubbly-Manufacturer5 Avatar

My ultimate life hack is to wear thong liners for this issue. Never had a camel toe again!!

  57. ChannelConscious5393 Avatar

Using leggings without the seam down the middle.

  58. xikixikibumbum Avatar

I once saw a tip online for this: you can get a pad and stick it to the leggings. Didn’t try it but figure it should work!

  59. Sola_Bay Avatar

    I keep her bushy šŸ˜…

  60. NoNeedForNorms Avatar

Have you tried thicker underwear? VPL is preferable to camel toe, imo

  61. blacktooth90 Avatar

They are too small for you.

  62. jamesish99 Avatar

You can use a train ticket or cardboard in the crotch to stop camel toe, we used to do this when wearing leotards at festivals!!

  63. Polishmoves Avatar

    They don’t

  64. Cautious-Peak5226 Avatar

As a gym girly, we don’t LOL.
Some brands are better than others, otherwise, it’s just always fixing it.

  65. aluminumnek Avatar

My ex GF would wear cycling shorts to battle that issue

  66. charlypoods Avatar

i cut up the annoying lil pads that came w some of my old bras and put that in the pocket that’s in most underwear. been lifting for 6 years now and only had to make a new couple of them after like 4 years bc they became thin. i wash them every single time i workout btw

  67. Munkiepause Avatar

The vulva is what makes a camel toe. The vagina is inside your body.

  68. rarogirl1 Avatar

What about wesrring the shorts over the top of your leggings?

  69. C-Funk5000 Avatar

    Rock that thang!

  70. Best_Help_4942 Avatar

Its great that you are taking your health seriously. One of the negative parts of the fashion industry is the excessive use of plastic in clothing. If possible, wear plain-o 100% cotton clothings that is slightly loose.

    Go all natural girl!

  71. ImJustLooking77 Avatar

Wear the correct size shorts and underwear

  72. funnybutnotreally_ Avatar

    Rock it. Own the toe.

  73. sunshineandcats21 Avatar

I have learned to not care, it’s the same as cleavage at this point. It’s noticeable I swear in jeans sometimes and it’s not a sizing issue, it’s just my anatomy.

  74. celestialsexgoddess Avatar

Thicker leggings. Structured panties with crotch support. I no longer use disposable pantyliners, I use washable cloth pantyliners.

Sometimes I can’t be bothered though, I just wear a long top that covers or obscures my crotch.

  75. ineedhelpihavenoidea Avatar

    In my experience, they don’t.

  76. JamesTheJerk Avatar

I’m a heterosexual male, but I have something to provide here.

The gym is a place to get sweaty and gross. To work on one’s body, to perhaps build additional self-esteem outside of the gym.

Inside of a gym, in my opinion, wearing loose and comfortable gym attire is important. It moves, it’s not too revealing, if it snags, my balls aren’t going to fall out the crotch. I couldn’t even imagine wearing snug, stretching clothing at the gym.

I am also very aware that many women go to the gym in tight fitting outfits. And really, what gym-going man would object to that? Men look. That’s a universal truth.

I suggest putting on some loose shorts (like basketball shorts), and an upper body combo that keeps things where they need to be while being comfortable.

If a person is looking for attention at the gym, then forget my comment.

  77. SnooStrawberries620 Avatar

Good gym gear has a decent gusset – the little patch as you call it. Ā Depending on your build it does not prevent hungry bum during squats though so you have the choice of looking like an Instagram ad or wearing looser shorties overtopĀ

  78. Kampurz Avatar

    wear shorts

  79. vvbakedhamvv Avatar

Wear shorts over the leggings and it’s a non issue.

  80. divinexoxo Avatar

I cut some cardstock and place it accordingly. It’s not comfortable but it gets the job done

  81. soaker Avatar

No one cares!! Have you ever seen a dude run in sweats? That thing is flopping all over the place. Whatever.

Come on ladies, camel toe is a thing and is sometimes unavoidable. There’s no shame. If anything, shame the people who are judging and giving looks. I promise they aren’t perfect either

E: I know this wasn’t an answer to your question. All I’m saying is – camel toe is okay and completely understand why you aren’t comfortable with it. I guess it was more of comment for those who are self conscious about it

  82. JoeyGrease Avatar

I’m not a girl, but couldn’t you just put on a pair of shorts to cover it?

  83. ave-me Avatar

panty liners!! massive life saver and they come in handy in a practical way too

  84. hosiki Avatar

I didn’t even know this was a thing. Either their genitals are built differently or their leggings and underwear are larger and not as tight. I don’t think I’ve ever had an issue with this…

  85. andcheesegreenpal Avatar

In my experience, leggings that have a gusset allow for better movement (and ride up less) than designs that don’t have one.

  86. arkaputra Avatar

I just buy men’s athletic shorts. Usually ones with a pocket and zipper for my phone. I reserve leggings for the winter. I usually look for athletic leggings, hiking leggings, or something that appear to have an extra salesm near the inner thighs and cooch area. Another option, I have girl’s shorts undies. They help prevent camel toe and chaffing.
