I’ve been with my girlfriend, as I said, for five years and that’s today. I was doubtful since the beginning, but then I convinced myself that she’s the one for me. After around 2 years of small arguments, the fighting began, and boy did we fight, over the stupidest stuff too. After 3 years of being together the idea of breaking up finally came to mind, but I guess I didn’t have the balls to do it for the same reason I can’t do it now: “I made it work so far, maybe I can make it work longer”
I think this idea of mine is wrong, because I know I want to get out of this relationship ASAP, for both or sakes. But I’m afraid that it’ll destroy and that’s a guilt I can’t carry, what if it’ll affect her mentally, what if she can’t marry because she’s old now (North African culture is rough) and what if I continued this relationship knowing for certain that one day it’ll end badly, I’m talking divorce. please tell me what to do, and how to do it, and please know that I’m not one of those guys that cheat and change girls, as she’s the only woman I’ve been with.

26 in north African culture isn’t old to marry, most women at age are freshly graduated or freshly starting the professional life. You’ll waste more of her time if you marry her or continue with her to separate later.
