How do i cope with lying to my parents about getting a septum

r/

My parents are the best parents ever, they would literally do anything for my well being. But recently i pierced my septum without my parents knowing and i just hide it. I feel si bad about it but at the same time i dont want to tell them the truth.

Just tell em. It’s a $50 piercing you can easily redo. Or, You can flip it up. Either by pushing forward or back. Watch a YT video.

I guess age and situation matters here. If you’re 18 and support yourself I’d suggest you just be an adult and tell them to deal with it.

My son pierced his own tongue. They’ll get over it.

I hid mine for years, they never found out. It’s not a big deal just something they don’t agree with. I wouldn’t beat myself up over it there’s plenty of much worse things you could be hiding from them

Damn, how will you be able to live with this tremendous weight on your shoulders. What a riveting confession.

I once ate a banana and was afraid to tell anyone, still dealing with anxiety over this traumatizing web of lies I’ve put up.

Can we stop posting these pointless “confessions”. Literally half the posts here don’t even comply with the first rule of this sub.

I have a video of my mom saying “if you ever get a septum piercing I will grab you and drag you by it” (lighthearted joke but also she HATED them)

So when I was 17 I had a friend pierce it and had it flipped up for a few months. She found out because I was leaned over and she saw it up my nose. She gave me soooo much shit for it. But now it’s been almost 5 years and she never makes comments on it anymore unless I bring it up first.

I also came home with paired eyebrow piercings and she just made the comment that it’s “taking away from my natural beauty”

At the end of the day, it’s your body. It’s not like you’re stealing from them, harming anybody, doing anything dangerous and risky. It’s just a piercing and your parents will still love you even when they find out and realize you lied to them. It’s okay, and I promise they’ll forgive you.

And I bet you totally rock the septum.

Isn’t your septum in your nose? How do you hide that?
