How do I not overly fuss over my BF?

r/

My partner cut himself today. I gasped, panicked, and ran to find a bandaid. He yelled after me “do not f***ing freak out!”

He gets annoyed when I react in a panic. Can you help me understand why this might upset him? What should I do instead? Doesn’t it make sense to react in order to address the issue?

I try not to overreact, but panicking is a bit out of my control, just as his reacting/cursing to me was more instinctual than logical.

(I’ll ask him too when he’s returned home.)

If you’re being this over dramatic about a cut that only required a band-aid and he’s immediately telling you NOT to freak out, assuming this is commonplace.

It’s incredibly annoying when someone is consistently on edge or losing it temporarily over every little thing. You can help this and if you can’t, get therapy.

When someone freaks out during an incident, it just makes it worse cuz now other people are gonna freak out. Plus, it’s annoying when I’m trying to remain calm and deal with the situation.
