How do you feel about the ‘are we seeing the same guy?’ Facebook groups

r/

These are private groups in every city where only women can join and the idea is that woman take screenshots of a man’s dating profile and asks other women in the same city if they’re going out with the same guy. They try to frame it through this lens of ‘protecting women’ but often times it encourages toxic behaviour like gossiping

You’ll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy

I was on it haha. Turns out they weren’t seeing the same guy. Didn’t stop them from having a discussion about me in the comments though haha. Was fucking ridiculous

Being posted there would be an instant breakup.

    It’s stupid

I don’t worry about what I can’t control. This falls into that category.

Someone once posted me there because she was feeling insecure after we went on a couple dates. An ex responded to her and told her lies about me. So obviously I think they’re stupid because the info people share is at best rumors and at worst damaging and manipulative. It’s a cesspool.

Some women never stopped being mean girls. They’ll say it’s to protect women but all I see is discussing mens secret fantasies, their genitalia, stalking them, and other forms of body shaming. I knew the groups were suspicious when the rules state not to disagree with other women’s comments.

Creating an atmosphere where anyone can badmouth someone anonymously seems pretty sinister, even for the most jaded of us.

It should be shut down. They wouldn’t like it if we did the same thing. Such double standards.
This is why I don’t do OLD and all that bs.

I’d advise all the guys to just DONT PLAY THE GAME (dating) and take yourself out of the pool. Best thing ever in my exp.

The fact that anybody can make up a claim about any guy without needing to provide any verification of its validity whatsoever with no consequence if they happen to be lying… should send alarm bells.

Sounds like a good, valuable tool for women.
