By changing how I think about femininity. I am a woman. I identify as a woman. I am afab and I am cis. By definition 100% of what I do is feminine. Whatever it is. Nothing can take away from my femininity, because I deem it so.
Nobody can give or take away your femininity or define it for you but you. It’s feminine to bench press 100 kg and to wear a pink dress while you are at it or with camo and a tank top while you are painting your nails. Femininity as a performance and something that can be taken away from you is something I so vehemently deny, nobody can say a word to me about it.

This might cop some flack, but literally wearing a dress.

Something i never did growing up, so I’ve done my fair share of tomboyish attire, time to switch it up.

Haters goanna hate but that’s how I feel šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

PERFUME. It’s my new hobby and I’m super into it – it’s super fun to play with different fragrances depending on how masc or femme my energy is any particular day.

  13. ColdShadowKaz Avatar

Wearing a dress of my choice in a way I choose. Growing up dresses were for sunday and had to look modest and super feminine still. I hated it. Now I can choose how I want to look feminine.

  14. APrivateLittleThing Avatar

Not letting men treat me like shit,I dont open doors, I dont pay, I let him plan the dates. If the man doesn’t do this I do not feel like a woman so I’ll pass.. I’m not his buddy and he’s not my girlfriend. So technically hang around masculine men and you’ll feel feminine. I dress the part, I look the part, I smell the part, keep it classy keep it reserved, keep it feminine, simple.

  15. YouDontLookDead Avatar

Skincare. I love a good exfoliate in the bath, moisturising, my toner spray for my face

  16. Particular-Cat-3382 Avatar

For me personally it’s not much to do with appearances but just being confident in myself, drawing boundaries, not people pleasing, controlling my emotions, and giving back to community/ helping others HOWEVER Botox does help a lot too lol

  21. heihau-97 Avatar

*Wearing feminine clothing. Not necessarily dresses, just regular clothes cut feminine to show of curves. And maybe lighter, lively colors.

*I don’t really wear make up anymore, but other skin care, or rather self-care products that are a bit āœØļøextraāœØļø (pillow mist, body mist, perfume, hair styling sprays etc.)

*And DEFINITELY wearing nail polish āœØļøšŸ’…. I never feel as feminine as when having a good set of nails. It makes me conscious (but in a good way), cause it’s such an attention grabber.

  23. EffectiveJoke1082 Avatar

It really depends on your lifestyle I guess. If you work and are surrounded by toxic people it’s going to be hard. Femininity starts with having the right environment

  24. Zealousideal_Pay7176 Avatar

Personaly, but i think that this is common for many other women, i feel femenine when i spend time with myself, make a good make up, manicure and so on

  25. jojobot18 Avatar

accessories!!!! earrings, bracelets, necklaces, piercings, watches, bows, scarves, etc. whats fun about being a woman is the ability to customize your character with little doodads!!

  26. shebewaffle Avatar

this seems so little, but letting my nails finally grow out. i’ve always picked/ bite my nails but i finally ditched that habit. i’m tall and already have large hands but long nails helps my hands finally look feminine.

  27. Honest_Tumbleweed930 Avatar

To me being feminine is self care wether mentally or physically, experimenting with all types of hobbies and clothes you like and/or dreamed of trying, having strong friendship to experience womanhood with the purest form of platonic love, being whimsical if you feel like it, believe your intuition and don’t ever do something you feel forced to or hanging out with people who are disturbing your inner peace, be cringe dance sing run dilly dallying connect with nature and animales be gentle to the people that deserve it, have a well decorated place where you feel safe and at peace, be firm and mean to men when they deserve it, eat what you want, do your makeup or don’t, try new hairstyles etc… I think being feminine is just living life as you like with your own terms, without caring about negative comments of those who uphold patriarchy.

  28. Prislv223 Avatar

It’s the ritual of skincare, pampering myself with masks, peels and potions. The act of putting on my ā€œfaceā€.

  29. hellogoawaynow Avatar

Doing the full body skincare routine in and after a shower!

  30. CozySarah Avatar

Wearing matching lingerie under a baggy sweater. No one sees it, but I know. That’s the kind of femininity that feels powerful.

  31. Wise_Trouble3285 Avatar

Wearing pretty underwear. Bonus if it matches bra.

*any creeps who try to DM will immediately get blocked

Earrings! I’m not sure what it is about earrings but they make me feel girly. I keep tiny studs/pearl earrings in my ears often.

  33. Old-Pizza-3580 Avatar

Start doing things that make you feel good. For me I started wearing dresses and wearing my hair down now. I also started reading poetry by women and listening to music and dancing more as that was always something that really got me in touch with my feminine energy.

The answer won’t be the same for everyone though.

  34. SunnyMama121 Avatar

Feminine clothing and make-up, pretty jewelry, and perfume! Always, always play up your best feature (mine is my lips šŸ’„)

Dressing cute and using products on my skin. Lol

  36. benevolentblonde Avatar

Taking an ā€˜everything’ shower; washing your hair, doing your full skincare routine, shaving, etc., then doing your hair and makeup full glam, and then dressing in your most feminine outfit paired with your favorite perfume, all while listening to your favorite girly pop playlist.

  37. Connie_Damico Avatar

Having nicely shaped and well painted nails. Wearing clothes that emphasize my waist and hips, being around men I actually really like, taking good care of my skin, hair and body, having art of women and the female body in my house

Just taking care of myself, after a long thorough shower, drying my hair, putting on only a large shirt, music on the background while I’m doing my nails, i just feel soooo good and feminine

  44. thegirlinvisible Avatar

I sooo struggle with this. I am a big girl (taller than a lot of ladies, and I’m a size 14). For a long time I felt inherently…unfeminine. I love jewelry, love accessories, wear a lot of pink. I used to get my nails done, and spent sooo much time in the salon getting my hair highlighted every six weeks. I lost my hair last year due to chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, and I realized how much of my feeling of femininity was tied to it. It’s slowly coming back, I’ve been wearing headbands and not to brag or anything, I finally have enough hair to clip back with tiny claw clips. I’m so excited, lol! I also love perfume. I think scents, too, are awesome. I have a lot, Chanel Coco Mademoiselle (I know, very basic) is my favorite. I spray it right before I go to bed. It’s just for me, something I enjoy, and I think that’s quite feminine itself.

  47. Beach_Bunny3 Avatar

I enjoy taking pride on how I look and how I dress!

  48. jartorfin Avatar

Wearing sexy underwear, doing my makeup, masturbating, also to be honest, just wearing leggings and a tight top out will typically remind me that others find me hot šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤šŸ™ˆ

  49. somethingreddity Avatar

Shaving lmao. Which only happens in the summer and only if I’m wearing shorts.

  50. GamingCatLady Avatar

let me preface this that I don’t like “feeling” feminine. People make too big of a deal about it and it gives too much attention. Don’t look at me, go away lol

Wearing a dress I guess. I have learned to like them around the house but I’m an generally not comfortable in them. The longer the better for me.

  51. AltruisticAd7384 Avatar

Taking care of my hair and skin = eating healthier and seeing results 😊

  52. mxgxnn Avatar

When I wear summer dresses, when i curl my hair, when I’m wearing a really nice perfume, when i listen to really girly pop songs.

  53. Wise_Trouble3285 Avatar

This is absolutely satire, as “feminine” is OBVIOUSLY not the opposite of strong and capable

I was just at the hardware store, picking boards out of the lumber yard for new garden beds. I was feeling strong and capable, knowing exactly what I needed and how to go about my project. And then I sneezed. And peed a little. Which very much made me feel like a MOTHER.

  54. obvious_papaya_73 Avatar

Wearing sundresses seems to do it.

  55. CamillesSecrets Avatar

Self care that makes me feel comfortable and beautiful: face mask, hairstyle, light makeup, eyebrows done, nice (but not itchy) dress and bonus if I can get a lash lift!

  56. pinkjesrocks Avatar

I like to take care of my nails and always have them painted.

  57. Worried-Bear4099 Avatar

Wearing outfits that just scream “me” (personality and suiting my look). I have a warm and kind energy so I may go for earthy colors, or just warm colors. Also styling or wearing my long hair down, or singing.
Sometimes looking after my little sister makes me feel more feminine as well. She called me mum once. (Long story. Living with dad).

  58. GooseInHats Avatar

Washing my bedding, taking an everything shower then putting on a cute matching set before getting into bed to crochet and watch something. Especially if I have my nails done and hair freshly dyed. Pretty simple, and I’m already pretty feminine, but god I feel like femininity itself on those nights.

  59. msphelps77 Avatar

Spoiling myself. Buying make up, clothes, purses, skin care products. I didn’t get to enjoy a lot of my younger years so I’m making up for it now.

  60. Unhappy-Load-6811 Avatar

As an ER Nurse, I wear scrubs and a headband every shift, no makeup/jewelry and no polish. It’s never been my style and I can’t wear it to work. But, when I get a pedicure and a fun color polish on my toes, I just feel pretty.

  61. Odd-Opening-3158 Avatar

TBH, just by being me? I’m not a masculine looking woman so I’ve never had to do anything extra just to feel feminine. I just am… I’m not trying to brag but everything about me just is. I know this because someone once told me that everything about me was just so feminine – from my choice of clothes, style of makeup, the way I carry myself, my hairstyle; it actually nauseated me that I tried to be less feminine! I was annoyed that I was so feminine – I never wanted to be a girly girl!

I don’t even wear heels; I prefer sneakers but white lacoste types, I wear a lot of blue rather than pink and I hate flowers and bright colours. Maybe I just am because I’m very short and round? Or I project it without thinking about it. I think at the end of the day, if you’re comfortable and confident in your skin, you will embody what you want to be. And that can be feminine or whatever you’d like.

  62. Desperate-Exit692 Avatar

Understanding genders and gender fluidity, deciding if I want to feel feminine. Some days when I don’t want to feel feminine, no matter what I do or wear feels awkward. Other days when I feel feminine, no matter what I do or wear makes me feel feminine. It’s all about the state of mind I’m at and where I wanna direct my energy, I can’t force ut, just flow with the feeling

  63. mountainllama7788 Avatar

Bonding with other women & having fun and meaningful conversations together. I used to be really lonely as a teenager and didn’t quite fit in any girl groups in the high school, so now I’m especially grateful for my female friends.
