It’s called Coping
Maybe it is just me, but I actively hate promotions. The amount of extra responsibilities for the pay increase is never worth it in my eyes. That and you getting the blame for whenever someone else fucks up is just too stressful.
I’ve recently turned down promotions and opportunities elsewhere because the only thing those positions offer is more money. To me it’s not worth the stress or difficulties they bring.
I love what I do, I make good money, I have more than I need. Why would I want to fuck that up?
Also, as I get older the more and more I realize just how much my career is a side quest and not the main campaign. The real stuff, the good stuff—that’s out here! It doesn’t happen between clocking in and out.
Sounds ideal to me.
Get a second job. Over employment.
You just go in every day and do it really half-assed. That’s the American way
Are you a prisoner? Why cant you leave?
they pay me a lot and i don’t care
I do my job and take care of my work, but otherwise pretty much check out mentally. Try to enjoy my free time while saving as much as I can in the hopes that I can actually retire someday.
Why can’t you leave? Is this some kind of Hotel California situation or what?
I’m trying to live currently. We have one shot at life. Want to try something new while I’m still 31 and not tied down(minus the dog)
