Hi everyone, I’m feeling pretty lost and could use some advice. I (30M) was let go from my job of 5 years due to company downsizing, and it’s hit me harder than I expected. I thought I was on a solid career path, but now I’m doubting my skills and struggling to even apply for new jobs because I feel like I’m not good enough. The job market feels brutal, and I’m worried I won’t find something that matches my experience (marketing, mid-level).
Has anyone been through something similar? How did you bounce back mentally and professionally? Any tips for regaining confidence, nailing interviews, or finding opportunities in today’s economy? I’d really appreciate any advice or stories about how you got through a tough career moment

Bump.
I don’t wanna put my 2 cents in, but I will say this JUST happened to my son’s dad.. just turned 29, but had to start over. He spent his whole life training for one thing, certified for more, and third company that’s downsized / closed down & let him go with all their empty promises to his career. He worked so hard each time, invested SO many hours and overtime : over achiever..
I also wanna say, you don’t have to start from scratch!!! You can start from experience ! 💪🏼
Hey, I’ve been there lost my job after 4 years due to downsizing. Try freelance gigs for small wins, reframe it as not your fault, and practice interviews. Network with old colleagues I landed my next role that way. Hang in there!
Start by reflecting on your skills from those 5 years they’re valuable. Break the job search into small steps like updating your resume and practicing interviews. Consider networking or upskilling in marketing. You’ll bounce back!
