How does LEO documentation compare to EMS documentation?

For those who made the transition from either 911 or IFT EMS to law enforcement, how would you say the documentation compares? Is each report more thorough or less thorough than a typical patient care report? In EMS I like to use narrative templates, not only to save time but to document a thorough assessment. Would you say that police documentation is structured in a way for templates to make sense or no? Did you spend more time on police reports than EMS reports? Thanks.
