Around 3.7 billion years ago when life first formed how can nonliving things turn living through abiogenesis? If we consider viruses non living then were there viruses before life 3.7 billion years where something happened that turned them to prokaryotic cells? As far as I know we have never been able to create life from nonliving things. Perhaps it is so rare that Earth is the only planet that harbors life in our galaxy including single celled.

I don’t think there’s a way to know for sure. We also don’t know his rare abiogenesis – it could theoretically be happening very frequently but any precursor of primordial life would likely nor survive long in the current environment with all the competition for resources
