I feel attacked right now
0, and because they don’t exist. neither the dishes nor washer. i hand wash after i use them so they don’t build up.
Americans dont like being told what to do
What dishwasher?
0 because I only eat fast food burgers like a true patriotĀ
Funny enough, my cousins from Greece just stopped by so i made sure to wash them all and/or put them in the dishwasher. I’ve got none in the sink š
My therapist told me itās OK if the dishes stay in the sink overnight if I donāt feel good and I need to lay down š
I had some cleaning issues where I felt like everything had to be spotless or I was a failure. So letting them sit overnight is my act of defiance
0 but some days there might be 2 or 3 soaking.
Did you guys know that some dishwashers have food grinders built in, with an actual blender style blade? That alone is a reason to honor your dishwashers needs and load it up.
Dinner dishes and they are not in the dishwasher since I donāt have one lol. Iām sitting in my sons room to ākeep the monsters awayā till he falls asleep so Iāll do them after that š
OK MOM stay off Reddit.
A handful that I’ll get to tomorrow, and mostly because I’ve never owned a dishwasher in my life and my neighbors probably wouldn’t be happy with me breaking in to use one of theirs.
Zero,
I’m headed to bed now. My dw is running, counters sprayed/wiped. Sinks are shiny. Trash taken out…teeth brushed š¤£
I don’t feel good after I exercise. And I don’t feel good after I put stuff in the dishwasher. My brain does not reward me for completing tasks.
Haha well this is different. I donāt have a dishwasher. Have a few glasses that didnāt fit in the dish rack.
Cause I don’t have a dishwasherĀ
Like 12. They’re my roommates’ dishes. The dishwasher is full and it’s their turn to unload and load it.
I donāt have a dishwasher. Literally and figuratively
Zero dishesā¦itās 11 pm where I live, do you really all just have dirty dishes in the sink? And youāll go to bed like that??
I would have anxiety about it all night lol
I don’t think I have any in the sink and I am the dishwasher
One. A hand cast ceramic bowl that I always hand wash…
…however…. I did just put a load in to wash. Dishes stack up for almost a while because I’m a single dude and don’t go through many.
Usually I run the dishwasher because I ran out of cat food dishes, and I have enough cat bowls to last a week.
Maybe 3 cutlery items & a cup. Why? Dishwasher is already running & kid just decided to bring random stuff out of room.
2 full sinks. And because I spend every day, all day, cleaning up after other people, my fucks have run out.
A bowl and a fork. I don’t have a dishwasher.
My apartment doesnāt have a dishwasher
I’m the dishwasher /s
And I’m on strike until my face washcloth stops being taken off the hook and thrown on the toilet
1 bowl, one fork, one pot. I’ll wash them tomorrow before I use them.
Noneā¦because I put my dirty dishes beside the sinkā¦and quite frankly I donāt use enough dishes to run the dishwasher more than once week or so (tv dinners)ā¦and that in an airtight boxā¦is just gonna be nastyā¦a stack of scraped plates and a basket for cutlery means nothing smells but if it does (once or twice year in heat of summer)ā¦i can catch it quicklyā¦
I despise washing dishesā¦
Most of them. (Iām single so itās not too much!)
I donāt have a dishwasher and my hot water heater is being stupid. Work has been stupid stressful lately and when I get home after an hour commute, the thought of doing a single dish is overwhelming.
Is it considered an American thing to not do dishes? I never heard of that one.
None, theyāre all in the dishwasher
Zero and I hand wash even tho have a dishwasher. I just hate unloading the dishwasher – but really hate washing dishes too
I… Don’t have a dishwasher. And I already hand washed a few sinkfuls. š
Several, but I already did dishes earlier that I had put off, so now it’s these dishes’ turn to wait.
A couple of cups, maybe a bowl. And we don’t have a dishwasher.
Too many. The dishwasher is broken and I don’t like doing the dishes every day
50, one for each state!
I donāt have a washing machine. Like 6 dishes
The pot for my rice cooker because itās got rice stuck to the bottom and itās soaking
Because why the fuck does it matter? People are being disappeared left and right and we are literally living a fascist dictatorship with a convicted felon who can get away with what ever he wants because the only courts who could keep him in check voted to give him immunity…. If he doesn’t have to do the dishes, why the hell should I?
Are you volunteering to be my dishwasher?
None. Use, rinse, dishwasher. My sink is always clean unless Iām actively using it. Even when I cook or bake, nothing is in it for more than a minute or two unless it needs soaking, then no more than 15 minutes.
I have one sheet pan and a plastic container. Neither are dishwasher safe so I’ll wash em before bedĀ
4 and some silverware. I did all the dishes and went to bed and when I woke up they were there. I was just too irritated to deal with them. And no dishwasher.
Don’t have a dishwasher
I have one knife that I forgot to wash, and no dishwasher.
None, but several on the counter next to it.
I have a nausea issue. Putting dirty dishes in the dishwasher and trapping smells, then having to open it to put more in is not an option for me. So we collect the dirty dishes on the side, and we fill and start the dishwasher every night (usually I do this, as I am the last awake.)
None. I wash each dish when I finish and don’t bother with the dish washer.
I am the dishwasher. I couldnāt possibly fit it all
Dishes were loaded early and are washing, but cats šā⬠š needed feeding so there are a couple dishes soaking in the sink. No problem.
I don’t exercise either š
I have an enameled Dutch oven āsoaking,ā along with a few sharp knives.
Sharp knives canāt go in the dishwasher silly
0 cleaned before the night shift they in the rack and I’ll let them up when I get home, feed the cat then go to bed.
My mom got rid of the dishwasher. Such an Asian parent move
One fork. I used it after the dishwasher started running. Sorry to let you down.
9 because the dishwasher is currently running
Zero. And I don’t use the dishwasher. I wash them by hand.
None and I don’t have a dishwasher
Donāt have one.
It has some. My dishwasher(wife) is away for a few days.
There are 5 or 6.clean plates, a few clean bowls, and various utensils. They’re still there because I’ve convinced myself that I’ll empty and reload the dishwasher tomorrow during the day before my wife mentions it in the evening. I’m pretty sure that I’m not lying to myself because I need to clean out the sink before I can start making dinner for tomorrow.
I don’t have to answer that!
What makes you think everyone has a dishwasher?
Not enough room on the drying rack at the moment. Plus my wife has too many damn tumblers. Then you gotta clean the straw too with a tiny brush. Its a whole thing dude. Leave me alone. Get off my lawn.
None
A lot, and itās because thereās a load of clean dishes in the dishwasher I havenāt put away yet.
Mind your own business, youāre not my real mom.
BECAUSE I DON’T HAVE ONE thank you for reminding me
While you’re at it, why don’t you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it, Inigo?
Like 4 dishes and my dishwasher is running š
I have covid for the first time ever so Iām not handwashing anything
2 plates, 1 cup, fork, knife, spoon – and I’m the dishwasher.
1, and that’s just because it is soaking to make it easier to wash
My mom never used the dishwasher because 1. it wasted electricity and 2. it’s for drying your dishes only and 3. she had no idea how to work the dishwasher. I always thought it was just my mom who viewed it this way until I saw Fresh Off The Boat. “It’s a drying rack.”
That show was dead accurate on how Asian Americans viewed the dishwasher. So to this day, I still have no idea how to work the dishwasher. Also, I live in South Korea, so a dishwasher is considered a luxury. Thanks, Mom.
I don’t currently own a dishwasher. It was nice when I had one. I moved, current home is nice but doesn’t have a dishwasher.
You know what stfu! Thereās 14 dishes in the sink. Pans, spatulas, a knife, cutting board, forks, a bowl, the kids cups. And they are not in the dishwasher because the dishwasher is full of clean dishes because I didnt unload it tonightā¦.
I just leave them on the counter. Then zi can still use the faucet
Jokes on you, I don’t own a dishwasher.
None, why have a mess in the sink when they can go right into the dishwasher? Iāve never understood this.
0, loaded and started the dishwasher right after dinner.
Dishwasher’s full. It’s just been run actually.
One spoon my wife used to stir her coffee.
About 6, because I donāt feel like taking the clean dishes out of the dishwasher yet because Iām getting sleepy. Also dishes is my least favorite choir
Okay, okay! Iāll go wash the one dish. I have a dishwasher, but use it as a drying rack.
None, I do dishes immediately after every meal.
0, and I did put them in. So there!
If they are there, it’s because I don’t feel like unloading the dishwasher.
I can’t put my dishes in the dishwasher. I just ate. And besides, the knives give me a stomach ache.
0
Get out of my house!
My dishwasher is great and right now, it is only half full. Most of it is plates and glasses.
Uh, one and a few cooking utensils. They’re there because I made food while my dishwasher was already full and running.
0 because if the dishwasher isnāt running at night I canāt go to sleep.
None – just finished them all (no dishwasher) including seasoning the cast iron
Like a real cowboy š¤
Thatās what my housekeeper does /s
Like 3, and I donāt have a dishwasher
One pan, one plate, two forks, one spoon. That’s basically where they live. I wash it, I use it, I rinse it and put it back in the sink.
There is a spoon in my sink, that’s it. I’ll put it in the dishwasher right now.
Cuz we are watching TV. Sipping wine, might have some fun activities. Dishes can wait until morning. Life is too short to worry about the sink.
6, I don’t have a dishwasher, and I am feeling lazy
I made braised oxtail. No dishes in sink. I havenāt put any dishes in the dishwasher because I am the dishwasher, and putting dishes in my belly makes me feel almost as crappy as having a felonious con man in the White House.
At least three. The drying rack is full. And I am the dish washer. Are you telling me to insert dishes inside myself?
Honestly 0 because i wash all the dishes every because having a dirty sink is disgusting and also washing dishes takes like 10 minutes at most unless you let them pile up.
Usually takes me less than 5 minutes to do on a regular day.
Don’t be lazy.
I don’t have a dishwasher unless you are referring to me. I would appreciate the dishes staying outside of my body.
I would have to take the clean ones out to put the dirty ones in, and that became too much of a task
Some bowls and plates, coffee cups and glasses, a cutting board, knives that I hand wash because they don’t go in the dishwasher. Why haven’t I done it? Because I’ve been sewing all day and then went out to a really nice dinner with my SO. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.
Zero. I absolutely hate dirty dishes piled in the sink. Sometimes thereās a glass or two while dishes are washing but itās rare and I donāt need to look to know there are none currently.
Bruh, i only use paper plates…..ceramic dishes are for richies
Zero dishes! Itās a pet peeve of mine.
Zero. We always do dishes before bed. Always.
I just turned mine on – I love my dishwasher!
Two each plate, knife, fork. One each spatula, serving spoon. One each fry pan and baking sheet on stovetop. They will be cleaned and placed in the drainer and then either put away before I head to bed or in morning while coffee and tea are in progress.
Dishwasher gets used over the holidays when there is company.
Just for that, Iām going to let my dishes pile up until Iāve got dirty, dry, crusty dinnerware and moldy pots and pans covering every unoccupied space of my apartment.
2 because my roommate is lazy
In the 3 years I’ve lived here I’ve never left a dish in the sink longer than about 29 minutes
Three sets (knife, fork, plate) and because I donāt have one.
None. I HATE dirty dishes left in the sink to the point where if others donāt want to do them, I will and I wonāt even complain. Iām a bit of a control freak about the kitchen. But because of that, I take on most of the responsibility of keeping it clean, and I am good with that.
When we didnāt have a dishwasher? Ok, sure. Thatās understandable. But now that we do? God, just put them in the dishwasher! I donāt even really care all that much if someone even starts it. Just, out of sight, out of mind. Just donāt leave them in the sink š©š¤£
2, a fork that I used to eat lunch at work today; and the container I took my lunch to work in.
Donāt have a dishwasher. Breakfast bowl, two lunch plates, two coffee mugs. They will be washed with the dinner dishes.
Zero. Just washed them an hour ago.
Zero. All dishes are handwashed by the end of the day.
She’s at work.
My big pan from making dinner is soaking. Everything else made it to the dishwasher (for once).
There are some pots but my CO put those pots in there so they might be mission critical hardware waiting and ready to be picked up and I donāt want to invite their wrath thus they will stay there.
One bowl. I cooked a microwave pasta dish in it. It’s soaking to get all the crud out before it goes in the dishwasher.
I don’t ever let dirty dishes sit in my sink. I used to. I used to be really bad about it. I’m talking disgusting. At some point I flipped. It’s almost OCD level. I can’t go to bed with just one spoon in there. It bugs me. If I forget to deal with this bowl, I’ll have to get up in the middle of the night when I think about it and go rinse it out and put it in the dishwasher.
I also despise emptying the dishwasher. But I live alone. I run it at night when it needs to be done. First thing in the morning I have to empty it. I can’t not do it. It has to be done. It bugs me as much as a dirty dish in the sink. Plus if the dishwasher is full of clean dishes, I can’t put dirty ones in there.
Here’s the kicker. I can’t eat my breakfast or dinner until I’ve done the dishes. So I cook. Then I put everything up while my food gets cold. Then I can eat.
3- because the dishwasher is running already and they were too big.
None. I keep up with them HAND washing.

They arenāt in the dishwasher because i am the dishwasher and I cannot put 2 frying pans and 3 plates inside of me
2, they don’t fit (weird shape)
0
The sink is full of dishes. I havenāt pushed dishes because my wife, our 4 year old daughter, and I are all dealing with something nasty that is causing severe vomiting and diarrhea. The wife and I are making do, but our turdlette daughter is generating a LOT of laundry the poor thing.
Zero. I wash my dishes in the sink immediately after use. I use my dishwasher as a drying rack.
My dishwasher was installed by gorillas or some shit so it leans forward and collects dirty dish water instead of draining. Dishes that go in there come out smelling worse than they did going in. We just wash by hand now
Who leaves dishes in the sink? Everything I cook with gets cleaned as in cooking so but the time dinner is over all that’s dirty is what we ate off, and all that goes straight to the dishwasher. No rinse, no prep because I bought a Bosch.
More than there would be if I had a dishwasher.
Because I donāt want to.
Zero. My dishwasher doesn’t work so I wash them all by hand every night. They’re all clean and drying right now.
There’s a few, and the dishwasher is already full and running. They’ll get in the next load.
I donāt have a dishwasher.
Joke post, clearly?
None for me. I clean my dishes or put them in the dishwasher immediately. If I see my husband’s left a few, I do his. I like my home tidy.
They needed to soak
6 baby bottles and a cup. Husband is going to do them in a bit he works 2nd shift. Then I do a mid baby bottle was as well š¤£
3 dishes. I proudly bought a countertop dishwasher for my apartment so I can actually keep up with dishes. The dishwasher is full, and I’m going to bed while it washes the current load.
2 because thats what I used for my midnight snack while the dishwasher was running.
3, because Iāll do them in a few hours, letting them āsoakā.
About half a dozen because the dishwasher is running.
However, the kitchen is spotless except for those few dishes which will go in the dishwasher in the morning.
I don’t have a dishwasher
I donāt have a dishwasher⦠I am the dish washer š
Two water glasses and I was too tired to wash them. No dishwasher in my house so those babies can wait till the morning.
Probably three. And we donāt have a dish washer.
